A hurt Tom visited Ashley at the lab and let her know that he knows about her using him. Ashley denied it. “Me wanting to change for you … that was true,” Tom sniffed, “Until I found out you were playing me. I overheard you say that I sickened you.” Ashley realized that he’d heard her say this when he brought the flowers by. “Everyone told me from Day One I wasn’t good enough for you,” he went on, “that you were just using me. Oh, well. I guess they were right.” Tom held up a knife and threatened to slash her “pretty, little face.” Tom then dropped the knife and warned her that the next guy might not be as understanding.

At the wedding, Gloria (looking fab in a red dress), urged the photographer to take her picture with “everyone important” so she could get into the society pages. And … oh, wow! They played J.S. Bach’s “Badinerie” from his “Suite In B Minor.” (FYI: This recapper plays flute and this is the piece that won her first chair in high school). Anyway, speaking of musicians, Glo accosted very cute trumpeter Chris Botti, who’d arrived to perform at the festivities.

Victor and Nikki came over to say hello to Phyllis and Nicholas. Jack interrupted their meeting and feigned politeness as he complimented Nikki’s dress. After, he asked Phyll for a dance, but she — still annoyed at him for ignoring her for Paul — said she’d think about it. Jill urged Jack to “play nice” with the Newmans because it was a wedding, after all.

Nick reamed out Victoria for acting as if she’d planned to send Brad to St. Louis all along, when she actually hadn’t. Soon, Abby came over, looking for Brad. Victoria complimented Abby’s dress, to which the little girl replied with a robotic “thank you.” Abby then blamed Victoria for sending her father away and stormed off (and, hey, they’re playing another flute piece. Wonder how much said flautist is making at this shindig…?). Later, Eric Forrester arrived, and to Victoria’s dismay, Victor introduced Nick as the CEO of Newman. Meanwhile, as Abby went to visit Victor, Nikki accused Ashley of badmouthing Victoria to Abby. Nikki returned to find Victor engaged in an exciting conversation with Abby about her flower girl duties. “You’re going to carry one of those baskets of flowers?” he wondered. Gee, Vic, you’d think that after having three weddings, you’d be an expert at this sort of thing.

Scott urged JoAnna to make amends with Lauren so she wouldn’t ruin his mom’s special day…. Mackenzie, looking lovely in the blue dress Kevin had gotten for her, happily arrived at the reception. J.T. took a moment away from work (read: following Jennifer around) to tell her how beautiful she looked. Mac was disappointed that J.T. had to work so much (yes, lurking around is a difficult job).

Jennifer (really Sheila) went to see Lauren in the bridal suite and warned Laur that Tom might be after her. Lauren thanked her for the information and told her to leave. After, Kevin gave Lauren Michael’s love letter. J.T., meanwhile, spied Jennifer and gave her a suspicious glance. Lauren then told Paul that Jen had paid her a visit, but asked him to not tell Michael. Paul reluctantly agreed and began to tell her how Jen and Brenda are the same person, but Lauren didn’t want to hear it. “You just concentrate on getting married,” an understanding Paul told his ex-wife.

Ashley and Abby arrived and went over to John. John “oohed” and “aahed” over Abby’s flower girl dress. Ashley then informed Paul of her confrontation with Tom.

JoAnna came to see Lauren as the bride finished getting dressed. Jo apologized for her bad behavior all week, explaining that she’d just wanted to be a part of Lauren’s life. Lauren forgave her mom.

Michael anxiously waited for the wedding to finally begin. Kevin and Gloria joined him, and Glo told her boys how proud they make her. And then finally — finally! — to the strains of Chris Botti’s trumpet playing, the wedding began. Gloria was the first to walk down the aisle; she ended her promenade by taking John’s hand and kissing him. Little Abby was next, and yes, she did indeed carry one of those baskets of flowers. Then came the bride (wearing a mermaid-esque off-white gown), accompanied by Scott. At the alter, Lauren took both of Michael’s hands and looked deep into her groom’s eyes. They then read vows they’d written. The short version: “When we first met, I thought I was living the high life,” stated Michael. “I convinced myself I was happy. Then, God, you came into my life and turned everything upside-down. You’re smart and you’re strong and you’re so full of joy, how could I not fall in love with you? Then my family started coming together and I wanted to be a better son and a better brother and I wanted to be a man you can respect as I cherish and respect you.” “I think I found the perfect way to tell you what an incredible person you are,” Lauren tearfully responded, thanking him for the love letter he’d given her prior to the ceremony. She then read the letter: “What we have will only grow stronger with time. I love you today, I love you tomorrow, and forever. This is the happiest day of my life. You knew what I needed before I even knew it.” “You are my rock,” Lauren told him. “I want you to know I am so proud and overjoyed to become your bride.” After, they were pronounced man and wife, and shared a passionate kiss. Yes, a soap wedding actually happened — woo hoo!
