William deVry, who just inked a new deal to continue on as GH’s Julian, can trace the renewal back to a sit-down he had with Executive Producer Frank Valentini the Monday after GH’s fan club weekend, marking their first face to face since the actor taped at the end of June. “I popped in to the studio, went right up to the stage and Frank was sitting down,” the actor reports. “They were on a 15-minute break, so it was quiet up there, none of the actors were around, and we went up to his office from there. And the next day, things started to move.” By week’s end, the deal was done. “I’m super-happy,” he says. “I was super-happy with how it went down. I feel like now that Julian is going to back, there’s so much story to tell. For me, that’s exciting. I’m certainly curious to see what the writers have in store for Julian’s frame of mind when he comes back.” To his fans, he says, “I appreciate the fans’ response during this whole time-out from my contract. I think that it was positive in that it’s great to see how much passion people have for the show and it’s great for the network to see that there’s a ton of passion for the show. I think that’s important.” For much more with deVry, check out upcoming issues of Soap Opera Digest.
