The Young and The Restless Star Christel Khalil Welcomes Her Third Child
The family of Young and Restless star Christel Khalil (Lily) has expanded yet again! The Daytime Emmy-winning actress and her husband, Sam Restagno, have welcomed their new baby! The actress made no formal announcement, but revealed the happy news when she posted a photo to her Instagram Stories of herself doing what appear to be barbell hip thrusts with her newborn in a papoose strapped to mommy’s chest.
Baby Makes Five
This is the second child for Khalil and Restagno, who met at Coachella in April 2016, got engaged in 2022 and married in Italy in October 2024. They welcomed their first child together — a boy named Remy — back in late 2023 or early 2024 (they didn’t share Remy’s date of birth, but the actress confirmed his arrival and name in March 2024, when she posted a nursery reveal on Instagram). Khalil also has a 15-year-old son, Michael Caden, from a previous marriage.
The actress also made no official announcement of this pregnancy, instead simply showing off her baby bump while dancing with her Y&R castmates to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” in an Instagram video for Halloween. The actress, who prefers to keep her personal life private, has not yet revealed the sex of her newborn child or the baby’s name.
Because Khalil’s pregnancy wasn’t written into her Y&R storyline, her character, Lily Winters, began dressing in loose-fitting clothing and carrying bags to hide her growing baby bump on screen. In the January 7, 2026 episode of the soap, Lily announced to Cane (Billy Flynn) that she was going to be leaving Genoa City to spend time with their daughter, Mattie, which marked the beginning of the actress’ maternity leave.
Khalil first joined the cast of Y&R back in 2002 and earned a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in 2012. When she was expecting Remy, Khalil took her maternity leave in December 2023 — Lily also left town to be with Mattie at that time — and was back on screen in March 2024. So if this is another three-month break, fans can expect to see Lily back on screen in early April.
