Soap Superlatives
Stand-Out Scenes
B&B: Hope is being integrated into the canvas nicely. We have especially enjoyed the scenes with her family. She’s gradually been re-introduced, which is the best way to approach a recast.
DAYS: Theo’s exit was poignant and sweet, with his loved ones saying good-bye as he left for South Africa. As a runner-up, we thoroughly enjoyed Valerie’s stunned reaction upon learning Lani was pregnant!
GH: The entire stand-alone Ava episode was spooky and fun. Bryan Craig’s return as Morgan was a treat, and Maura West was commanding throughout as Ava.
Y&R: How satisfying was Dina sticking Graham with that needle as he tried to kill her? Max Shippee has played evil very well, and it was about time for Graham to get his comeuppance. Poor Dina, though.

Things That Made Us Go Hmmm
B&B: Let’s count how many times Brooke has been married: 12. We couldn’t believe it when Brooke told Ridge she thought her relationship with Bill would last forever….
DAYS: Andre’s plan to fire Gabi was far from foolproof. How did he expect Kate, Chad and Abigail to react?
GH: Why is the entire Port Charles mayoral race seemingly taking place within the confines of Charlie’s Pub?
Y&R: It’s ridiculous to think that Tessa would steal Mariah’s journal and not expect any sort of trouble when the song is released.

Smarts!
Kudos to several characters for figuring stuff out lately. DAYS’s Chad and John deduced that Andre must be behind the corporate intrigue at DiMera. Y&R’s Ashley quickly realized that Graham was trying to frame her with her fingerprints on the needle. Soap characters can’t always be too savvy — stories would be over far too quickly — but it’s nice to see characters getting to the bottom of things.
