You just had your first soap opera kiss. How was that?

“It was good, I think. It was weird because I’ve done on-screen kisses before but it wasn’t a serious plot point like it is now, so it was a weird experience for me and I was crazy-nervous.”

Your scene partner, Courtney, is newer to the show than you. Did you try and make her feel comfortable?

“Oh, yeah. She’s really cool and super-fun. I think I hang out with her the most of anybody because we have scenes together. We hang out and talk. She introduced me to Vietnamese coffee, which is the strongest coffee you will every have.”

Did you read with her while she was auditioning?

“I did. There were eight girls we were auditioning and two chemistry tests, and we auditioned her in the morning and she was back for the chemistry sessions that afternoon. I was like, ‘Wow, that’s pretty hardcore.’ She just blew it out of the park. I just knew she was going to get it. I felt it, and she did! The fact that in one day she got that job was very impressive.”

You also got to do a stunt when Coco pushed R.J. out of the way of that forklift. What was that like?

“She is strong [laughs]! She threw me in those boxes like crazy. I had never done my own stunt before and that was on my actor’s bucket list so I’m glad to check that off. I thought getting thrown into the boxes would hurt a little bit but it didn’t at all. It was great because I never got to do anything like that before.”
