Should Bold and Beautiful’s Deacon Stay With Sheila or Dump Her for Taylor?

Comments

Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) hasn’t had the best luck in love on Bold and Beautiful, and now he faces a major decision regarding his romantic future — should he stay with his wife, Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown), or end his marriage to pursue a relationship with psychiatrist Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig)? Both options are rife with potential drama, but which choice is the right one?

Dangerous Love

Deacon was stunned when he had a drunken one-night stand with a mysterious redhead in August 2022, who turned out to be the notorious Sheila. At the time, Sheila had faked her own death, and she persuaded Deacon to let her stay in his apartment. He fell for her rather unique charms, though he was taken aback when she later moved in with Bill Spencer and they became a couple. Deacon urged her to come back to him, and eventually, the whole Bill/Sheila hook-up was revealed to be a scam on Bill’s part, as Bill was angling to get Sheila to confess to some of her many crimes and put her behind bars.

Despite her having taken up with another guy, Deacon remained smitten and called in a favor with the judge to get Sheila’s case thrown out on a technicality. He then popped the question, but later called off the engagement at the urging of his daughter, Hope Logan. After Sheila was believed dead yet again, Deacon realized that the corpse didn’t belong to the woman he loved, and immediately went in search of her. Rescuing Sheila and bringing her home, Deacon once again proposed, and the couple tied the knot in a small ceremony, given the lack of people willing to celebrate the union.

The Other Woman

Before getting mixed up with Sheila, Deacon made a serious connection with Taylor Hayes in July 2022. The two bonded over their shared heartbreak as Brooke and Ridge reunited once again. Deacon was more than happy to put Brooke in the rearview mirror and turned on the charm with Taylor, but while the therapist appreciated his flirting, she still only had eyes for Ridge. So in the end, nothing came of their initial sparks, and Deacon wound up with Sheila.

However, after learning that his wife had been lying to him about her granddaughter Luna — the woman who had murdered his friends, Tom and Hollis — not being dead as everyone had been led to believe, he felt the stab of betrayal. As Sheila begged for his forgiveness, Deacon turned once again to Taylor for advice and counsel. As for Taylor, she was stinging from the heartbreak of Ridge dumping her for Brooke for the umpteenth time.  The two have shared some close moments together, and it looks as though romance could be in the cards this time around.

Life or Death Decision

The problem is that Sheila is already aware of the growing closeness between her husband and his therapist. And an angry Sheila is an unpredictable Sheila. If Deacon chooses to divorce her to explore a relationship with Taylor, there’s no telling what Sheila might do to take revenge. Deacon will already likely face an uphill battle trying to replace Ridge in Taylor’s heart, and having Sheila plotting to destroy one or both of them is just going to make things that much more challenging.

Sheila may have softened somewhat since marrying Deacon, but as they say, a leopard never changes its spots. And if Deacon decides to stay with his wife and work on their marriage, it likely won’t be long before Sheila will be lying to him about something else, and he’ll find himself right back in the same position all over again.

So should Deacon stick with his wife, even knowing she’s likely going to betray him again? Or should he take the risk and try for something different with Taylor, who may still not be fully over Ridge? Cast your vote in our B&B online poll and then share your opinions in the comments below!
