Scott Clifton (Dillon) loved going on location. “Kirsten [Storms, Maxie] and I were in a golf cart on our way over from the set and we were talking about how you get one little taste of this and you’re like, ‘Oh, man. This is what film actors and some television actors get on a daily basis.’ I love film sets, and the few times I’ve been on sets like this, I’ve been around other actors who are like, ‘Oh, we hate the weddings and the trailers,’ and I always thought, ‘Are you kidding me?’ The travel, the new places to see. I was really excited I got to be here today.”Also, look for Clifton to be a part of the new GH podcast on ABC.com. “Dillon, the character, is being the videographer for the wedding and thus Scott, the actor, is walking around the set pretending to be Dillon, the character, interviewing other actors who are pretending to be their characters, answering testimonial-like questions about being at the wedding, about wishes for the bride and groom, along with congratulations, condolences, regrets, questions, comments and queries. You get the idea.” We do. Thanks, Scott. To view the podcast, check out https://abc.go.com.
The script called for a stunt double for Jane Elliot (Tracy). What’s up with that? “I’ve done a few stunts since I’ve been here,” she shared. “I think it’s usually because [Tracy’s] drunk. It’s invariably something involved with alcohol [laughs].”
Anthony Geary (Luke) laughed at the thought of a surprise appearance by Kin Shriner (ex-Scott) to catch the bouquet once more. “Oh, wouldn’t that be fun,” Geary grinned. “I’m not going to be around for any bouquet. I’m quite content with my single life, thank you very much. Kin was just here [in Los Angeles]. We did a special for SOAPnet [premiering November 24]. We were quite pleased with the way that turned out. It would be a surprise to me, but I don’t think he is [going to pop in]. I don’t think he could stay in a trailer all day. You’d have to lock him in [laughs].”
Natalia Livingston (Emily) enjoyed not being the center of attention: “It was my easiest November sweeps story ever [laughs]. I just had to sit, smile and check my messages all day.”
Ingo Rademacher (Jax) didn’t have much to say — literally: “I think I’ve got about five lines today, so basically I’m a highly paid extra [laughs].”
Tristan Rogers (Robert) got overtly sentimental, stating, “I’ve got to tell you, I was blown away when I heard [about revisiting the wedding]. As one of the originals, this is not just an outdoor shoot for me. I didn’t quite realize until I got here, ‘Wow!’ All sorts of memories came back, especially of people who aren’t with us anymore who were very significant to that wedding, Gloria [Monty, former executive producer] being one of them…. I can feel a lot of ghosts on this set.”
Constance Towers (Helena) relayed the story that she actually met her GH predecessor, Elizabeth Taylor, who originated the role of Helena in 1981. But, they didn’t talk shop: “I have come to GENERAL HOSPITAL late in my life and I think it’s a wonderful show. I’m sorry I wasn’t there and didn’t see the first [wedding]. I would have loved to have seen Elizabeth Taylor … I have met her, about four or five years ago. She was the life of the party and having fun. She was beautiful and all of the things you expect Elizabeth Taylor to be [but] we didn’t talk about daytime or Helena. It was a very brief meeting that we had.”
Laura Wright (Carly) proved she’s a vet when it comes to location shoots — she brought her own comfy Eddie Bauer folding chairs to sit in between takes. Wright noted that if anyone had told her a year ago that she’d be a guest at Luke and Laura’s wedding, “I wouldn’t have believed it at all. I remember watching the first Luke and Laura wedding, so it’s pretty surreal.”
Jacklyn Zeman (Bobbie) was thrilled to be a part of the big day again, but her alter ego showed up solo. “I was hoping [Bobbie] would be bringing Dr. Noah Drake, but I don’t see him around anywhere,” she giggled. “It would be nice if they could hook up because everywhere I go, that’s right away the first thing people say to me.”If you’re wondering where you’ve seen the minister, you might recognize Benjamin Brown from the syndicated series SAFARI TRACKS. And, he’s a soap vet, too. “I did YOUNG AND RESTLESS a while ago,” Brown confessed. “This was when the character of Nathan was on. I was a lawyer who he came to because he was trying to get his kid, so that tells you it was a while ago. I was 15 at the time [laughs]. I was just playing older.”
