My Look – Courtney Hope
Where do you like to shop? “I like bargain shopping. I like stores like Wasteland. That’s my favorite. I love vintage stores. I love going down Melrose [Avenue in Los Angeles] for thrift shopping.”
Any favorite labels? “I have a Journey top on right now that is really cute.”
Red and pink are usually no-nos for redheads, but Sally wears them a lot. Do you? “My natural style is a little edgy, but classy, too. I wear a lot of blacks and grays and dark colors. I never thought I could wear pink. I thought I should never wear hot pink ever because I have red hair, and that I should never wear red. I love red lipstick but like, a red dress or something? But since I’ve started the show, my opinion has changed because they put me in a lot of that stuff, and I’ve liked a lot of the hot pinks and the fuchsias and the reds that they’ve put me in. I think if it’s done right, with the right makeup and it all blends together, it works. I wouldn’t wear red all the time because I do feel like it takes away from the red hair a bit, but the pink was a revelation for me. It was weird to wear at first because I was like, ‘There is no way I should wear pink!’ In fact, I actually would avoid it. I would look on the sale rack and there’d be a pink section and I’d divert the other way. But now, if it’s the right color, I’d wear it.”

What’s in your wardrobe that Sally would never wear? “I wear a lot of fitness stuff, like Nike high-top shoes and fitness workout pants, all different types. That’s from being a fitness instructor and being into fitness. I really don’t think Sally would wear any of those things unless it was on a dare. I have actually contemplated that: ‘Does Sally work out?’ I think yes, and I think if she were to wear a workout outfit, it would be very eccentric. But my bulkier, hip-hop, Nike high-top shoes, Sally wouldn’t be caught dead in.”
