While all Young and Restless viewers know that Lauralee Bell is an actress who plays Christine Blair Williams, she’s also a Daytime Emmy-winning producer (Outstanding Special Class Short Format Daytime for ml Promise), writer and director. Now she has released a fun behind-the-scenes video from her upcoming appearance on the CBS as Genoa City celebrates New Year’s Eve.
A Closer Look
Once again, Bell served as producer/writer/director and she filmed it too. She and Michael Damian (Danny) will be featured in scenes that air on Monday, December 30 as well as Thursday, January 2. When shooting the segments, Bell took some fun footage and edited to a fun song.
“Since Michael Damian and I are in the New Year’s shows,” she began in a statement, “and we get to work with some of our favorite long-time castmates, we had to do something extra special to wish the show’s loyal fans a Happy New Year to thank them for their continued support. Sometimes I come up with a concept for these videos first, but this time, I was out walking our pups and heard ‘Everybody Talks’ by Neon Trees and it instantly clicked how perfectly it worked for the New Year’s shows.”
The project quickly came together — with a little help from her friends. “The usual suspects in these videos expect me to grab them to do strange stuff on camera between shots, but this time I had to run up to Peter Bergman and Susan Walters and say, ‘Trust me on this one, I promise it will be cute,’ ” she shared. “We had so much fun doing these scenes and this video, and you can definitely tell from the group shots at the end! This time, I also included some of our wonderful hard-working extras because they are always great too. Happy New Year to all!”
