Jack on Bold and The Beautiful — Everything You Need To Know

It’s been a while since he last appeared, so it’s only natural that some viewers would be needing a refresher on Jack Finnegan on Bold and Beautiful! Actor Ted King made his debut in the July 30, 2021, episode of B&B, his first for CBS Daytime. Previously, he was well-known to ABC soap fans for his roles as Danny Roberts on Loving and The City, Luis and Lorenzo Alcazar on General Hospital, and Tomás Delgado on One Life To Live. Viewers might also recognize the talented performer from his role of detective Andy Trudeau on the primetime supernatural drama Charmed or one of his numerous other roles in film and television. Although he hadn’t been seen since May 2023, King reprised the role in July 2024 and again in January 2025.

Jack Finnegan is the father of Dr. John “Finn” Finnegan, and it was only natural he would want to be around for his son’s wedding to Steffy Forrester. So he and his wife, Li Finnegan, arrived in Los Angeles to meet their new grandson, Hayes, and attend Steffy and Finn’s wedding. Unfortunately, Jack was acting very twitchy and was obviously keeping something from the couple. And at the ceremony, Jack attacked a veiled woman who arrived and seemed oddly relieved that it was Pam Douglas!

The truth was revealed during the reception when Sheila Carter crashed the party to reveal that she was actually Finn’s birth mother! But Jack knowing the identity of his son’s biological mom wasn’t the only secret he was hiding — he’s also Finn’s birth father, a fact that Sheila used to blackmail him into helping her see her grandson. Naturally, Steffy was not thrilled to come home and find Hayes in the arms of the villainess!

Later, Sheila urged Jack to come clean with Finn, but he was afraid of the repercussions. He bit the bullet and first admitted the shocking truth to Li, who was stunned to learn that he had an affair with Sheila and had been lying to her and Finn about it ever since! Naturally, she was furious and forced Jack to tell Finn the truth before he learned it from someone else. And when Jack came clean with his son, Finn threw him out of the house and Jack disappeared, likely waiting for the dust to settle.

Jack resurfaced in May 2023 when he arrived at the jail to visit Sheila, who had been E-mailing him. She tried to remind him of the connection they shared and the son that they made together, hoping the attorney would agree to help her but Jack wanted no part of her craziness.

In July 2024, Jack was at Il Giardino for a performance by Tom Starr and wasn’t thrilled to run into Li. They shared a quick drink, though he noticed she seemed distracted. Jack met Tom and shook his hand, looking forward to the performance, but then didn’t stick around. The next day, when he visited Finn at the hospital, Jack explained he had taken off because the singer had been awful and was stunned when his son revealed that Tom had died on stage! He also expressed his pleasure that Finn had reconnected with Poppy and Luna and was happy Luna found out Bill was her dad. 

Jack was summoned to Li’s office in January 2025 and since he was hoping that she might be amenable to reconciling, he was completely taken aback when she accused him of being Luna’s father! Both Jack and Poppy insisted that they’d never done anything more than hug, so it was impossible, but Li insisted on taking some of Jack’s blood to do a paternity test, and he felt vindicated when it proved they weren’t lying.
