Guiding Light Alum Nancy St. Alban Visits The Locher Room

Memory Lane
St. Alban, who hails from Baltimore, Maryland, was beloved for her role as Michelle Bauer Santos on the now defunct CBS soap. She made her debut on October 27, 2000 and stayed with the soap until November 2005. She then reprised Michelle as the soap prepared to bid farewell to the airwaves, first returning to Springfield for several days surrounding the Bauer barbecue in July of 2009 and then on September 17, 2009, the day before the final episode aired.
During her time as Michelle, the character’s love story with Danny Santos (Paul Anthony Stewart) intensified, fell apart and did it all over again… several times. She had to deal with his mafia mother, Carmen, who wanted her dead; Danny’s guilt over having (supposedly) killed his mother after learning Carmen killed his father; the birth of their son, Robert Frederico; Danny’s quest to leave the mob; dealing with the FBI; faking his death; her decision to pursue medicine like her father and brother; the birth of their daughter Hope and so much more — like most soap heroines.
The actress will reflect on her career, her lifelong dedication to dance and acting and the unique journey that led her to discover her love for yoga and wellness. With over a decade of experience as a 500-hour certified yoga instructor, she co-founded her own studio, Yoga Love, where she combines her deep understanding of body alignment and mind-body connection to help her students find both strength and serenity.
