Newly retired ER doctor Guy Gansert, one of the suitors vying to win the heart of Joan Vassos on the debut season ABC’s The Golden Bachelorette, is checking in to General Hospital.

People broke the news that on Wednesday, March 12, Gansert will pop in to Port Charles — and more specifically, the Metro Court offices of Crimson — as wildlife journalist Geoffrey. He will appear in scenes with Cynthia Watros’s Nina Reeves and Maura West’s Ava Jerome.

Gansert, who came in second place on The Golden Bachelorette in 2024, shared exclusively with People that his cameo was born out of joking to a producer at the finale of the first season of the show that, having watched GH in college, he would love to be on it. Marveled Gansert, “Within a couple of weeks, I received an email Zoom invitation with [Executive Producer] Frank Valentini and [Vice President, Production & Administration, ABC Daytime, Disney ABC Television Group] Dominick Nuzzi.” That led to the offer for a one-day gig on the show, which Gansert readily accepted, calling it “an exciting opportunity to actually act and be a part of an iconic show.”

This is not the first time someone from Bachelor Nation has appeared on GH. In 2018, Nick Viall (a contestant from season 21 of The Bachelor) was tapped to host the red carpet of the Nurses’ Ball.  There is, likewise, a long history of stars from other ABC series showing up on GH in short-term roles. That list includes a 2013 crossover storyline with the hosts of the since-canceled culinary-themed talk show The Chew, and multiple appearances by Grey’s Anatomy star (and devoted GH fan) Chandra Wilson, who has played a psychiatric patient of Kevin’s, a marriage and family therapist who counseled the Ashford clan, and Crimson editor Sydney Val Jean, who hosted the Nurses’ Ball red carpet with Nina.
