Tammy asked Jonathan for more time to fortify herself before going inside Reva’s party. Inside, Reva assured Cassie that Tammy and Jonathan would show. RJ heard Christmas music and went outside to investigate with the adults. Instead of carolers, the family saw Tammy and Jonathan smooching. Tammy received a warm greeting from Cassie, Rusty and Hawk, but only Reva rushed to greet Jonathan. Jonathan admitted to his mother that it wasn’t so bad to be with his family during the holidays. Reva told Jonathan and the Shayne men that she wanted to get everything out in the open: Jonathan was trouble, just like the rest of the family. He was one of them. Tammy pulled Jonathan aside to kiss him. Billy hit the bottle before entering the party, then slurred that Tammy could take a lesson from Mindy: She had dated a lot of losers, too, and now she was with a good man. Tammy overheard and brought Jonathan over, calling him her boyfriend. Billy wondered how she could make such a bad choice, but Tammy insisted Jonathan was a good guy. Jonathan urged the men to take their issues up with him, not Tammy. The argument escalated into a shoving match. When Jonathan tried to punch Billy, his fist landed on Josh’s face instead, and Jonathan went careening into Reva’s tree. Jonathan announced that he didn’t belong there, but Tammy was worth ten of each of them. He stormed out. Tammy hugged Cassie, then followed her boyfriend. Those remaining cleaned up the mess and sang Christmas carols. Jonathan and Tammy returned to their love shack, which had been torn up by Sandy. Jonathan put their tree back up, and Tammy hung her locket from the top. They kissed.
At the Main Street Christmas party, Mel and Rick explained that Leah was spending the holidays with Danny, Michelle and Ed. Gus had visions of Alan threatening Harley, but she believed it would be a great Christmas. Frank invited Olivia to meet him at a jazz concert, then told Buzz that he had a date. Olivia mailed the divorce papers to Bill. Buzz asked Olivia to meet him in 6 months. If she wasn’t happy and dating an attractive man, he’d give her the restaurant. They kissed under the mistletoe. Buzz made a Christmas toast, reminding those assembled how blessed they are. Alan-Michael arrived with a necklace for Marina. She convinced him to remain for the party. Those assembled launched into the same carol being sung at Reva’s party.
Lizzie visited Alan in the mental institution. She revealed that she recalled the good times, not just Alan murdering Phillip. Lizzie gifted Alan with cigars (Can he smoke in the institution?), and they hugged good-bye. Alan said he would see her soon, whether she came back to visit or not. Beth, Lillian and Alex brought James for a Christmas visit. Alan gave James the advice to never take no for an answer. Alan told Beth that in 2006, they’d be together as a family again.
Mallet struggled with his bag of groceries. Some of his purchases fell out and hit Dinah’s door. When she came out to investigate the commotion, he squirted her with beer, then offered to hose her down. A hotel employee brought the last available turkey dinner, and Dinah and Mallet argued over it. She doused Mallet and the hotel employee with beer. Mallet finally relented and told Dinah she could have the turkey. After he guilted her, Dinah suggested they share. (And after all that drama, they didn’t even give a tip to the poor man working on Christmas Eve!) Over dinner, Dinah explained that she felt in control of her life for the first time. Mallet got a call from Gus, who wanted him to come to Main St. to work. Dinah believed he’d rather be at the party than with her and told Mallet to go. Dinah was alone in her room, when someone began banging on the door. She answered it to find Mallet standing on her doorstep in his pajamas. (Wow, he’s sure of himself!) Mallet kissed Dinah, and they began to make love.
