Reva explained to Billy how hurt she felt after observing Josh, Cassie and RJ together like a family. Later, she went to Sarah’s grave and monologued about how Josh and Cassie fell in love, just because Reva had decided not to be selfish for once in her life. She wondered about what would have happened if she she’d have done things differently. Then her thoughts turned to Cassie. She decided that her good, kind and fun sister deserves to be happy with someone like Josh after all she has suffered. In typical Reva fashion, she declared, “You know, I’d really prefer a mixed drink over a mixed blessing.” She was glad that Josh wasn’t with Olivia, but realized maybe Cassie and Josh should have a chance. She would never stop loving Joshua, but she was ready to make a hard decision and do the right thing. Billy found her at the grave. She told him that she had had a great life, but that she was ready to let go, and to do that, she was prepared to give Josh happiness, even with Cassie.
Meanwhile, Cassie and Josh talked about how they were hurting Reva. They both knew that Josh wanted an easy relationship, which Cassie didn’t think he could ever have with her. She suggested that they step away from each other now, but that maybe they could eventually start over. They tenderly kissed to say good-bye to each other.
At Lizzie’s competency hearing, Alan’s lawyer expressed Alan’s fear over Lizzie’s fragile mental state. Alan-Michael and Rick were questioned, but then Alan was called to the stand. Much to Tammy, Lizzie and Jonathan’s glee, Mel brought up Alan’s own time in the sanitarium. Then Tammy was called to the stand. Unfortunately for our intrepid trio, she was asked to read out loud a transcript of a conversation that she had had with Lizzie, where Lizzie admitted that she had knowingly shot Alan.
