GL Alum Comes Out As Lesbian

Maureen Garrett, who played GUIDING LIGHT’s Holly (and one half of the show’s most iconic couples with the late Michael Zaslow‘s Roger) from 1976-80, 1988-2006 and in 2009, has celebrated Coming Out Day in a very personal way: publicly revealing to Out Magazine that she is a lesbian. The notoriously private actress opened up about her 20-year relationship with her partner, Janet Morgan, with whom she shares three grown sons. Garrett also shares that she approached GL producers years ago about creating a same-sex storyline for Holly but it never came to fruition, though the show later had success with the wildly popular Olivia/Natalia pairing. “I am very happy and fulfilled,” the actress said. “And the kids are all right.” Read more here.
