Secret Quartermaine kids turning up in Port Charles have been a constant on General Hospital over the decades. With the recent revelation that Brook Lynn had a child years ago, here are few other “Q” heirs that surprised the family – and the show’s viewers.

Jimmy Lee Holt

In 1983, Jimmy Lee Holt (Steve Bond, r.) showed up in town, revealing that he was Edward’s (David Lewis) son by his former mistress, Beatrice LeSeur. The character quickly began stirring up trouble, teaming up with Heather Webber to try to gain custody of baby Jason and access his trust fund, after his mother, Susan Moore, was murdered. The plan failed when Monica allowed Alan’s illegitimate son to live with them. After ill-fated affairs with Celia and Lorena, Jimmy Lee was lured into investing all of his ELQ stock in a business scam that left him broke. Although he later reconciled with and wed Celia, the marriage quickly fell apart. Jimmy Lee ultimately found true love with Charity Gatlin, married her and left town after Edward gave him a check to buy a farm he coveted.

Justus Ward

After Bradley Ward’s murder in 1994, Mary Mae Ward unleashed a bombshell on the witness stand when Edward stood accused of killing him: Bradley was her love child with Edward, a product of their secret affair decades earlier. That made Bradley’s son Justus his grandson; Edward offered him the position of council at ELQ and gave him shares in the company. Sadly, Justus’s life began spiraling once his true roots were exposed. He killed Damian Smith and let Laura go on trial for the crime, then resigned from ELQ and went to work for Jason and Sonny. Ultimately, he decided to turn over a new leaf and run for DA, winning the election with Edward’s help, but resigned and left town 1998. Justus (M’fundo Morrison, r., with Jed Allan as Edward) returned in 2003 to represent Sonny, who was accused of killing Lorenzo Alcazar. Reconnecting with the mobster proved to be his downfall. Upon attending a meeting in Jason’s place, Justus ended up fatally shot by Manny Ruiz in 2006.

Danny Morgan

In 2012, when Sam (Kelly Monaco) was pregnant with Danny, she wasn’t sure whether the father was Jason (Steve Burton), her husband, or Franco, the sicko who had (she believed at the time) raped her on her honeymoon. A paternity test deemed Jason (Steve Burton) to be the dad, but after Heather Webber perpetuated the lie that Jason and Franco were twins, Sam realized that the test had not actually ruled out Franco as the potential pop. Sam ordered a second test and was heartbroken when it indicated that Franco was indeed the baby’s dad — but this was another lie, as Heather had tampered with the test. After Danny was born, Heather swapped the newborn with Téa Delgado’s stillborn baby, leaving Sam to mourn yet another child and Danny to spend the first several months of his life living in Llanview, PA as “Victor Lord III.” Eventually, Heather’s machinations were revealed and Jason and Sam reclaimed the baby, but Jason was shot and presumed dead before he and Sam discovered that Danny was, indeed, his biological son. Sam received that proof shortly thereafter and took Danny to meet Edward, his great-grandfather, shortly before the patriarch’s death. Jason, of course, ultimately returned to town and reconnected with his son.

Drew Cain

Although originally believed to be a back-from-the-dead Jason, it was revealed in 2017 when the real Jason returned from the dead that the man who had claimed his identity was actually another Quartermaine heir — Jason’s twin brother, Drew Cain (Billy Miller), Alan and Susan’s secret son. It turned out he had been left with Betsy Frank at birth, and she began raising him as Franco’s brother. Ultimately, Drew was sent to a group home and went on to become a Navy SEAL. After being kidnapped by Helena and having Jason’s memories implanted in his brain, Drew believed he truly was Jason. But upon the real Jason’s return in 2017, Drew was forced to track down his identity. Once the truth about Drew’s past was confirmed, Monica (Leslie Charleson) warmly welcomed him into the Quartermaine family as her son.

Oscar Nero

As Drew reeled from the discovery of his true identity, another surprise was in store: He learned that his long-ago romance with Kim Nero in San Diego had produced a teenage son, Oscar (Garren Stitt). Oscar and his gal pal, Josslyn, had suspected as much so they ran a secret paternity test, the results of which confirmed their gut feeling about what Kim was hiding. Drew and Oscar forged a close relationship, but it was sadly cut short in 2019, when Oscar passed away from a deadly brain tumor.

Wiley Corinthos

ABC/Christine Bartolucci

Determined to keep her newborn baby away from Michael (Chad Duell) and his family in 2018, Nelle convinced Brad to switch Jonah with Wiley (Viron Weaver), the baby he and Lucas were poised to adopt, who died suddenly while Brad was home alone with him. While a devastated Michael mourned his baby boy’s passing, Brad and an unwitting Lucas began raising his child — and named Michael as Wiley’s godfather! Brad confessed he’d switched babies to his father-in-law, Julian, who quickly figured out the baby Lucas was raising was Michael’s. Worried a weak Brad was about to spill all, Julian plotted to kill him by tampering with his car. In the interim, Brad revealed the truth to Lucas, who wound up driving and crashing the sabotaged car. Lucas fell into a coma for months. Upon awakening in 2020, Lucas remembered the switch and relinquished Wiley to Michael. Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) ultimately adopted him, as well.

Austin Gatlin-Holt

GH
ABC

Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) made a heroic entrance in 2021; when the doc was hiking in the Pautuck woods, stumbled upon a distressed Maxie and helped deliver her daughter, Bailey. He later surfaced in Port Charles and barged in on an ELQ-related Quartermaine family meeting and announced that he was the son of Jimmy Lee Holt and Charity Gatlin, making him Edward’s grandson! Austin set his sights on challenging Edward’s will, which excluded Jimmy Lee and his descendants. Austin put Chase up to swiping a letter Edward had written before his passing in which he acknowledged that he was thinking about altering his decision to disinherit Jimmy Lee, but he ultimately dropped his claim when Brook Lynn got him suspended for a HIPAA violation (after manipulating him into sharing with her that he suspected Leo was autistic). Austin had little to do with the Quartermaines after that, and had bigger problems when his shady maternal cousin Mason (Nathanyael Grey) popped up in PC. Austin was ultimately shot dead in his house in Pautuck in 2023.
