Daytime veteran actor Rick Hearst joins The Locher Room on Friday, December 13 at 3 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. PT to discuss his General Hospital comeback as Ric Lansing, the role he created in 2002 and played until 2009, before returning for another stint between 2014 and 2016.

A Splashy Return

Since reprising the role last August, Hearst has been thrust into the Port Charles drama, defending Ava Jerome, reconnecting with his daughter, Molly, mixing it up with ex-wives Elizabeth and Alexis, and reigniting his combative relationship with his half brother, Sonny. And, as always, the three-time Daytime Emmy winner – Hearst took home the gold for Outstanding Younger Actor in 1991 for his portrayal of Alan-Michael Spaulding on Guiding Light and nabbed two Outstanding Supporting Actor victories for his role as Ric in 2004 and 2007 — has been delivering on all fronts.

During his previous stints on GH, Ric was best known for his dastardly deeds, including kidnapping a pregnant Carly and locking her up in a secret panic room; shooting mobster Faith Rosco to prevent her from revealing their partnership against Sonny, abducting and attempting to blackmail Courtney into marrying him via false evidence framing Jason for murder; hiring Hayden Barnes to pretend to be married to “Jake Doe” (later revealed to be Drew) to break up his romance with Elizabeth; and colluding with murderous Madeline Reeves to bilk Nina of her fortune (which he did by marrying her while sleeping with her mama!).

In addition to Hearst’s long prosperous daytime career, which has included stints as Scott Banning on Days of our Lives (1989-1990), Alan-Michael on GL (1990-96), Matt Clark on Young and Restless (2000-2001), and Whip Jones on Bold and Beautiful (2002, 2009-2011), Hearst has also appeared on prime-time hits like The Vampire Diaries and Dynasty.

Born in Howard Beach, Queens, New York, he has been married to Donna Smoot since 1990 and they have two sons, Cameron and Nicholas.

The Locher Room will chat will Hearst about his long journey back to GH, resurrecting cunning attorney Ric Lansing, his take on all the drama that’s unfolded so far and more. It’s a conversation you won’t want to miss.
