General Hospital Recap: Valentin Reunites with Charlotte, Cody Rescues Ric, Britt and Lucas Clash and More!

Comments

The October 15 episode of General Hospital was full of shocking moments, starting with Cody (Josh Kelly) discovering Ric (Rick Hearst) in Alexis’s (Nancy Lee Grahn) basement at the same time that Molly (Kristen Vaganos) turned to Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) for help finding her father. Plus, Tracy (Jane Elliot) got legal advice from Marco (Adrian Anchondo), and after Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) finally got his visit with Charlotte (Bluesy Burke), Brennan (Chris McKenna) demanded answers from him Cesar Faison. Keep reading for all the details!

Tit For Tat

Jack accompanied Lulu and Charlotte to Switzerland to see Valentin at Steinmauer. Growing frustrated while her mom spoke privately with Valentin first, Charlotte informed Brennan that her father always warned her people would use her to get to him, but she never imagined the government would be doing the using. Then she told Brennan that if Valentin was in Steinmauer, he deserved to be there as well. Her father never pretended to be innocent, Charlotte added, unlike Jack.

In the visiting room, Lulu asked Valentin not to make their daughter feel guilty for building a life in Port Charles. She was taken aback when Valentin revealed that he’d gotten caught on purpose so Charlotte could be with her mom. She asked him to be selfless once more and support their daughter’s new life. In exchange, she promised not to get in the middle of their relationship. Then, she opened the door for Charlotte to come in, and father and daughter shared an emotional hug.

While Charlotte visited with Valentin, Lulu blasted Brennan for using her daughter as a bargaining chip. Although Jack argued that the information he’d get from Valentin during the visit would be used for the greater good, Lulu countered that the WSB put a target on the teen’s back since they were showing Valentin’s enemies that they could go through Charlotte to get to him. Jack reminded Lulu that he had promised to protect Charlotte, adding that any danger she faced was because she was the daughter of a brilliant, but very dangerous, man.

Back in the visiting room, Valentin lamented that Charlotte was now too grown up to still call him “Papa,” and they cried over how much they missed one another. Valentin also told Charlotte that he knew Britt Westbourne had returned to town and warned her that she and Rocco could not trust the woman. Soon after, Jack and Lulu entered the room, with Brennan declaring that the visit was up. After one last hug between father and daughter, Lulu escorted Charlotte back into the hallway. Brennan signaled to the guard to leave the room as well. Once alone with Valentin, Brennan informed his former accomplice that since he’d kept up his end of the bargain, it was time for Valentin to reveal all he knew about Cesar Faison’s final project.

Hidden In Plain Sight

Molly sought out Dante at the PCPD, explaining how she was concerned that something had happened to her father, and asked him to ping her dad’s phone so she could figure out what facility Ric was at. As they waited for the results of the trace the department put on Ric’s phone, Dante questioned Molly’s relationship with her dad, not realizing they were so close, so she explained how it had been a newer development, ever since Ric came back to town for Irene’s funeral. When Dante got the report back from Ric’s phone, the records showed that not only had he last used his phone earlier that day, but he was still in the state. At first, Molly was relieved that she could narrow down which detox centers her dad might be at, but when Dante showed her that the report pinpointed Ric’s location within a five-mile radius, her relief quickly dissipated. Grabbing the folder, she declared, “No, this cannot be right.”

At the Metro Court, Lucas and Marco were on a lunch date when Tracy stormed over, demanding Marco’s legal representation. Informing Tracy that lunch was on her, Lucas ordered the prime rib and then left them to talk business. Tracy insisted that Marco assist her in tossing out the squatter at the Quartermaine house, aka Ronnie. Marco agreed to investigate contesting Monica’s will, but warned Tracy that evicting Ronnie would be a difficult process that could potentially take years. They could expedite matters, Marco added, if Tracy got others to see Ronnie as being “problematic” as well.

Over at the bar, Britt was ambushed by Vaughn, who suggested that debriefing at the bar over a drink was a better option than dragging her to a WSB black site. Spotting Lucas across the room, Britt snarked to Vaughn that she was out of his league, then turned to Lucas, who had walked up next to her. “So, can we stop pretending I don’t exist, and you talk to me now?” she smirked. Lucas insisted he wasn’t ignoring her at work, just trying to keep things professional. Britt then accused Lucas of doing something to Brad that forced her best friend to leave town and become unreachable. As they continued to squabble, Lucas pointed out how, when he was on the brink of considering a reconciliation, Brad had lied to him again. Britt accused Lucas of punishing her friend for being vulnerable and making a confession. Fed up, Lucas declared that he was at the bar to speak with Vaughn, not her, taking the WSB agent by surprise. Then Lucas lambasted Vaughn for breaking his niece’s heart, warning him not to hurt Josslyn again.

As Lucas walked off, Britt chuckled that Vaughn could have shut Lucas up in an instant by outing Josslyn as WSB and threatened to do so herself unless the agency made it worth her while to keep Agent Jacks’s secret. Reminding Britt that she was in no position to negotiate, Vaughn suggested she tread carefully, then threw cash down on the bar to pay for her drink before leaving.

After his cross with Britt, Lucas returned to Marco, who joked that they’d be eating leftovers all week thanks to Tracy’s tab. Britt approached the table to introduce herself to Marco as the best friend of Lucas’s ex-husband. “And trust me, you’ll never live up to this guy’s extremely high standards,” she scoffed of Lucas. Britt left after Lucas called her a sociopath, then he told Marco that all he’d wanted from his relationship with Brad was honesty, but his ex-husband was incapable of giving that to him. “I know you would never lie to me the way Brad did,” Lucas confidently assured his current boyfriend, but the comment had Marco squirming in his seat.

Cold As Ice

Gio was working the counter at Bobbie’s when Ronnie arrived, and she was charmed to learn that he, too, was new to the Quartermaine family and had previously lived at the mansion. As they discussed the various people who live at the estate, and Ronnie’s impressions of them, Gio filled her in on how he fit into the family tree. He also revealed that when he attended Monica’s memorial, he wasn’t sure if the family was welcoming to him because they liked him or because he shared their name. Understanding why Gio had moved out, Ronnie invited him to return at any time. Before leaving the diner, Ronnie urged Gio to make amends with his family and not make the mistake she had with Monica, letting decades pass without speaking, and then it being too late. However, Ronnie’s advice seemed to have fallen on deaf ears because when Dante later arrived and ordered a cup of coffee, Gio gave his dad a frosty reception. Silently filling a mug, Gio coldly informed Dante that the drink was on the house before leaving the counter.

Tea Off

In the Quartermaine kitchen, Chase found Brook Lynn unpacking Lila’s tea set. She revealed to her husband that the only way to ensure Ronnie didn’t sell the house or kick them all out was to make Monica’s sister feel like she was part of the family, so she wanted to throw a tea party to introduce Ronnie to the community. If Ronnie made her own connections in Port Charles, Brook Lynn figured, she’d be less vulnerable to Tracy’s digs and think twice about offloading the house. She planned to have the party at the house and picked a date when she knew Tracy was unavailable to minimize contact between the women.

When Ronnie got back to the house, Brook Lynn, with Chase by her side, pitched the idea of throwing a tea party in her honor to introduce her to some Port Charles residents. When Ronnie turned down the offer, claiming that it was not her style, a disappointed Brook Lynn moaned that she knew it was something Monica would have wanted the family to do for her sister. Laying on a guilt trip about how much Monica did for the community and that the party was meant to celebrate Ronnie continuing that legacy, Brook Lynn managed to change Ronnie’s mind. “You had to play the sister card, huh?” the newcomer asked, accepting Brook Lynn’s invitation.

Entering the kitchen, Tracy demanded to know what Ronnie was taking from her family now, then declared that she was looking forward to the tea party Brook Lynn was hosting. When Brook Lynn pointed out that it was on the same day as a fundraiser her grandmother was scheduled to attend in New York City, Tracy gleefully said she’d send a donation. With a fake smile plastered across her face, Tracy announced, “There’s no place I’d rather be than right here, welcoming Ronnie to Port Charles,” as she and Ronnie stared each other down.

All Tied Up: The last thing Cody (Josh Kelly, l.) expected to find in the basement was Ric (Rick Hearst) cuffed to a bed.ABC

In Alexis’s basement, a bound and gagged Ric was relieved when Cody came down the stairs, having entered the basement from the outside bulkhead door. At first, Cody thought Ric had forgotten his safe word during some kinky play with Alexis, then rushed to pick the handcuff locks when they heard footsteps upstairs. Once Ric was freed, Cody noticed how weak he was and wanted to take him to G.H., but Ric said he had something else in mind.

Meanwhile, upstairs, Alexis and Ava both anxiously checked Ric’s bank account, but they were unable to access the funds. After sharing a laugh at how far they’d come as frenemies over the last month, thanks to being co-conspirators in Ric’s abduction, Ava complimented Alexis on being a good mother and was touched when Alexis confided that they had that in common. Just as Alexis and Ava were about to go downstairs to check on their “houseguest,” Kristina entered, wondering if Cody was there since his truck was parked outside. Alexis figured Cody had met up with Molly to go for a walk, but Kristina thought her sister was at work.

While Alexis phoned her younger daughter to see if she was with Cody, Ava and Kristina headed to the basement to check on Ric and were shocked to see the bed empty and the handcuffs open. Alexis was leaving a message on Molly’s voicemail when Ric and Cody came busting through the front door! Kristina and Ava rushed back upstairs to tell Alexis that Ric was gone, only to find him and Cody in the living room! When a confused Cody demanded to know what was going on, Ric spat out, “Would you three lunatics like to tell this good man how you kidnapped and drugged me, or shall I?”

In a lightning round of confessions of illegal activities, the women explained to Cody that they’d only abducted Ric since he’d blackmailed Alexis and extorted money from Ava, leading Ric to shout in return that Ava stole money from a child (Ace) and Kristina was responsible for his car accident because she’d been trying to kill Ava and nearly killed him instead. Then, the women asked Cody for one more hour so the money that Ric stole could be transferred back into Ace’s account, with Ava offering to pay him for his trouble, and Ric countered with an offer of a finder’s fee if Cody took his side. “You’re all nuts,” Cody proclaimed. “I have no idea how any of you are related to Molly.” Then, as he opened the front door to leave, Molly stepped into the doorway — and Alexis, Ava, Kristina, and Ric all shared concerned looks.

How do you think Molly will react to the sight of her father? Do you think Valentin has useful information about Faison or was merely playing Brennan to get face time with Charlotte?
