Comments

General Hospital alum Jonathan Jackson (ex-Lucky Spencer) is sharing a new project with fans, announcing his latest release directly in a new Instagram video.

Coming Soon

The actor, who began his GH career back in 1993, has won six Daytime Emmys for his portrayal of Lucky over the course of several decades, including the Outstanding Supporting Actor prize he took home last year for his most recent stint on the show. In addition to his work as an actor, he has also carved out a career as a musician, poet and author.

In his selfie-style Instagram video, Jackson spoke directly to fans as he revealed details of his upcoming release as an author.

“I just wanted to let you know that I have a new project that is coming out September 26 this year,” he said. “It’s available for preorder on Amazon and other places.” He also briefly held up the cover in the clip, revealing the title, The Eternal Poet and the Cosmic Drama.

Jackson said the project has been many years in the making and continues his longstanding interest in storytelling, history, and spirituality.

The new release follows earlier work as an author, including The Mystery of Art: Becoming an Artist in the Image of God (2014) and The Harrowing of Hell (2023). He has also published poetry under the name J.S. Jackson, expanding his work as a writer alongside his acting and music career.

Outside of daytime television, Jackson has appeared in films such as 1999’s The Deep End of the Ocean and 2002’s Tuck Everlasting, and from 2012-16, he starred as Avery Barkley on all six seasons of the ABC series Nashville. As a musician, he performs in the band Enation alongside his brother Richard.

In the caption of his Instagram post, Jackson described the new project as “a deep dive into the art of storytelling as it relates to history, the Bible and Pagan Mythology,” adding that it is aimed primarily at filmmakers, writers, poets, and performers, while also appealing to those interested in the intersection of art, faith, and meaning.

The Eternal Poet and the Cosmic Drama is currently ranked as the No. 1 new release on Amazon in the category of Christian Orthodoxy.
