Heartbreak Ahead

In the promo video for the week of November 25 on Days of our Lives, spoilers show that something heartbreaking has happened in Salem and the task of informing Hope falls on cousin Jennifer. “There’s something that I have to tell you,” she begins, as Hope quickly realizes this isn’t a regular social call. “A little while ago, Jack tried to wake up your dad, but he didn’t wake up,” Jennifer says, her voice cracking at the end as we see Jack trying to wake up Doug. The news is too much to bear as Hope breaks down in tears saying, “Oh Daddy.” We then see video of a young Doug and then another scene of him hugging a very young Hope.

Sad News To Share

At the hospital, it falls on Kayla to inform Marlena of the sad news. “Doug passed away,” she says. It’s easy to see that Marlena is clearly stunned by the news. Next we see Lani hugging Eli as she says, “Doug and Julie… they were the perfect couple.”

Julie approaches her husband in bed for a last good-bye. “How can I go on without you,” she asks him, tears falling as she kisses his hand. Video of the two of them when they were much younger as he says, “Enchantée, Madame, et bonsoir,” while he bows and kisses her hand. The scene returns to the present, with Julie still sitting beside her late husband and telling him, “I will love you forever.
