Claire de Lune: After the Breakup

Comments

Once upon a time, it all seemed to be coming together for federal prosecutor Claire Walsh: She was in a relationship with Sonny and drawing up plans to have a baby. But then he broke up with her, and Claire’s entire life — personal and professional — crumbled. GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Dahlia Salem explains how Claire can pick up the pieces.Soap Opera Weekly: Having Sonny break up with Claire and get engaged to someone else must have tossed a monkey wrench into her baby plans!

Dahlia Salem: You betcha! Unless there’s something you don’t know yet [laughs]!

Weekly: Do you think Claire would turn to someone else to make those plans happen?

Salem: Either a sperm bank or someone who, hopefully, has a genuine mutual affection for her and wants a relationship. I think that would be a great plan for her. I would hope!

Weekly: Hmm, to whom would you like to see her turn her attention?

Salem: I think it’s important for her to be situated [regarding] where she’s going to work. At this point, I think Claire is needing to process what has happened with Sonny. To tell you honestly, I’m not so sure who — or what — her sights will be set on yet. I don’t feel it yet. Regarding Sonny, it’s her process. I won’t lie and say I’m not curious about what someone else could come up with!

Weekly: Claire could complicate Lucky’s situation with Siobhan…

Salem: Yeah, Claire bonded with Lucky, and I think there was a genuine, charming chemistry. That would be something I would love to revisit, if the writers had that in mind.

Weekly: And Lucky totally loves kids!

Salem: And he loves kids [laughs]! It would be cool if they crossed each other’s paths again.
