What Happened to Chanel on Days of Our Lives

Chanel on Days of Our Lives made quite a splash when she first appeared in Salem, but softened over time. Actress Precious Way made her debut in the newly created role on March 25, 2021, but by July of that year, she had exited the soap and DAYS recast the character with daytime newcomer Raven Bowens, who continues to play Chanel to this day.

Chanel Dupree first appeared in Salem when she started chatting with Claire Brady and suggested they order some expensive champagne while they hung out. After Tripp Dalton joined them, Chanel got the scoop on some of the town’s recent gossip. But things took a turn when the newcomer tried to skip out on the bill and when Paulina Price stumbled upon the argument while out with Eli Grant and Lani Price, she begrudgingly admitted that Chanel is her daughter.

Although Paulina paid that bill, she told Chanel she was cut off and would not be living off her money anymore. Chanel was disappointed when she was ordered to get a job, and when she ran into Theo Carver while moping around town, she even suggested that she could join him when he returns to South Africa. Turns out, Chanel is the girlfriend he split up with before coming home!

But when Chanel stumbled upon a drunk Xander Kiriakis in the park, she figured out another way that she could live the good life. Heartbroken from being dumped by Sarah Horton shortly before they were to marry, Xander woke up to the sobering realization that Chanel was his new wife! The pair agreed to extort money out of Paulina in exchange for cash, but that did not work in their favor.

She then reconnected with old friend Allie Horton and after the pair shared a kiss, Chanel revealed she was bisexual. In an attempt to make something of her life, Chanel decided to start her own business, a bakery named Sweet Bits. She hoped to open a storefront in Horton Square and was crushed when her mother’s plan to demolish the area to build a big box store was revealed. Seeking comfort from Allie, the girls shared another kiss.

Although Chanel and Allie admitted they had feelings for each other, Allie chose Tripp, so Chanel tried throwing herself at Theo. But it was actually Allie’s twin, Johnny DiMera, who caught Chanel’s eye and they began dating. Allie admitted to Chanel she couldn’t bring herself to return Tripp’s declaration of love, but Chanel remained with Johnny. A possessed Marlena Evans revealed to Chanel that Lani was really, Paulina’s daughter so she decided to drop that particular truth bomb at her mother’s wedding to Abe! 

Then, Chanel announced that she and Johnny had gotten hitched, but at the reception, Johnny dumped her! Not realizing that Johnny was possessed by the devil, a confused Chanel found comfort with Allie, and they slept together. Chanel served Johnny with divorce papers, and he let slip to Tripp that Allie had cheated on him. Now both single, Allie and Chanel decided to date each other, but then Allie got possessed and dumped her, too! Chanel and Tripp bonded over drinks and nearly slept together but Paulina put the kibosh on that, thankfully. 

Once the devil was finally gone for good, Johnny tried to reconcile with Chanel and asked her to marry him. But Tripp told Chanel that Allie was in love with her, and the twins found themselves fighting over her. Chanel chose Allie and Paulina accepted her daughter’s decision, but Johnny continued to be a presence in her life. Alex Kiriakis began flirting with Chanel and Allie convinced her girlfriend to have a threesome with him!

In November, Chanel was arrested for the murder of Martha Bedford, and Chanel privately confessed to Allie that she was the wife of a university professor in London with whom she’d had an affair. She had fallen to her death during an argument on a rooftop that turned physical. Attorney Sloan Petersen revealed that she was Martha’s daughter and wanted revenge. Paulina was also charged with covering up her daughter’s crime, but by the end of the year, the charges against both of them were dropped. 

As 2023 began, Sloan filed a civil case against Chanel and Paulina. Allie got jealous when Chanel and Johnny nearly kissed, but then Chanel found Alex’s underwear in the couch and accused Allie of cheating on her. They subsequently broke up and Chanel focused on work at Sweet Bits, hiring Talia Hunter on as a new employee for her growing business. The two grew closer and began dating but Talia soon revealed that she had been forced to do it by her boyfriend, Colin, who wanted to hurt Chanel. Colin, Sloan’s brother, was also out for revenge, and he attempted to kill Paulina as Chanel watched but Talia stopped him.

When Abe was presumed dead, Johnny comforted Chanel. She also repaired her friendship with Talia, who confessed she had real feelings for her. But then Johnny confessed he still loved her and she dumped Talia to be with him again. Things were going well until Chanel noticed Holly Jonas had developed a crush on Johnny and she had to bring it to her oblivious boyfriend’s attention before it got any worse. Concerned about her mother’s health, Chanel urged Paulina to go to the hospital and get checked out.

Chanel and Johnny kicked off 2024 by getting engaged though their Valentine’s Day wedding date conflicted with Paulina’s cancer surgery so the couple got hitched in her hospital room before she went in for the operation. Chanel worried when her mother’s condition took a turn and she needed a heart transplant but after a near-death experience, Paulina recovered fully. After celebrating Paulina’s recovery, Chanel and Johnny went on a honeymoon at the Horton Cabin which was accidentally interrupted by Julie. When Chanel went missing during a snowstorm, Paulina ignored the warnings and left radiation treatment to find her daughter. 

After returning home, Chanel felt dizzy and soon found out she was pregnant but was furious with her mother upon learning that the radiation could have serious effects on the unborn fetus. The couple announced that they were expecting and Chanel reconciled with Paulina but tragically, Chanel miscarried and she blamed her mother until Kayla revealed it had been a genetic issue. 

No longer going to Los Angeles for Johnny’s career, Chanel landed a role on Body & Soul and Johnny was hired as the soap’s director. Chanel and Alex were hired because of their smoking chemistry on screen, which also served to make Johnny jealous, especially directing their love scenes. Chanel was stunned when Johnny accused her of actually sleeping with Alex, especially since he did it at the surprise birthday party she was trying to throw. Chanel befriended newcomer to the soap Joy Wesley, who had recently returned to Salem, and didn’t understand why the young woman kept pushing her away. 

Chanel discovered the truth on New Year’s Eve when she overheard Johnny and Joy arguing and demanded the truth. Johnny finally confessed that believing she had cheated on him with Alex, he got drunk and went back to Joy’s room but they stopped before they actually slept together. He asked if they could work past this, but enraged that he’d been lying to her for months, Chanel flatly informed him that was never happening.
