Cady McClain Shares Photo With Ex-Husband Jon Lindstrom: ‘If It Baffles You…’
Cady McClain (Pamela, Beyond the Gates) is opening up about her close bond with ex-husband Jon Lindstrom (Joey, BTG; Kevin, General Hospital). Sharing a group dinner photo on Instagram that included Lindstrom and two friends, McClain described her former spouse as her “rather talented and kind ex-husband” and acknowledged that their enduring friendship may surprise some people.

“I happen to be spectacular friends with these spectacular people, one of whom happens to be my rather talented and kind ex-husband,” McClain wrote. “If it baffles you… I can’t help you.”
The actress went on to reflect on what she sees as people’s tendency to place others “in little boxes so they can feel more comfortable,” adding, “I’m more comfortable out of the box, thank you, and so are the people I like the best.”
In the photo, McClain and Lindstrom are smiles as they dine with pals Eldo Rey Estes and Carol Shure. Estes is the Daytime Emmy-winning makeup artist who led the makeup team at As the World Turns, while Daytime Emmy-winner Shure was a producer on both All My Children and ATWT. McClain and Lindstrom met briefly on the set of AMC, where McClain played Dixie Cooney Martin and Lindstrom was shadowing a director, in the early 2000s but connected in earnest at ATWT when he began playing Craig Montgomery opposite her Rosanna Cabot in 2008.
McClain and Lindstrom got engaged in 2012 and tied the knot on Valentine’s Day in 2014. They briefly shared the daytime screen together again in 2020, during the height of the Covid pandemic, when McClain was playing Jennifer Deveraux on Days of Our Lives and Lindstrom stepped in as a body double for her Salem leading man, Matthew Ashford (Jack), for a kissing scene.
In 2024, the couple announced their split in a since-deleted Instagram post, writing, “After serious consideration, we have decided that our goals have been taking us in different directions and to end our marriage. We remain friends and wish each other every happiness. As people who work in the public eye, it can be difficult to have a private life. Regardless, we ask for your kind consideration in this matter.”
Both Lindstrom and McClain have long been friends with BTG’s creator, head writer and executive producer, Michele Val Jean, who formerly wrote for Lindstrom as twins Kevin and Ryan on GH. In 2025, Val Jean tapped both actors to be part of her soap’s original cast, gushing that the stars “are not only soap opera icons and brilliant actors, but two of my favorite people on the planet.”
McClain concluded her post on a lighter note, writing, “We all enjoyed a lovely dinner and a very fine time.” “Warms my heart,” BTG castmate Daphnée Duplaix (Nicole) replied in the comment section.
