Complete Devastation

The action in the Beyond the Gates spoilers preview video for the week of May 5 opens with the aftermath of the anniversary party from hell at the country club, where Dana blew up the seemingly perfect marriage of Nicole and Ted — by outing their long-ago affair that resulted in Eva. “Proof,” Eva says as she hands Kat the test results — confirmation of what Eva’s known for a while: they share the same father. Kat takes the paper gingerly, still in shock. “You got a DNA test?” she asks, disbelief written all over her face as the truth begins to sink in — Eva is her half sister.

Nicole is taking it just as hard. “I feel like my entire world stopped at that club, and now I’m unable to feel, I’m unable to move, I’m unable to rage,” she tells her sister, Dani. You can bet Dani can relate, having had her own marriage implode over infidelity not that long ago. Will she be able to comfort her sister?

Lean On Me

The Dupree family closes ranks at Anita and Vernon’s home. Dani and her daughters, Naomi and Chelsea, are at the house, trying to make sense of it all. “It’s a long, dark night, Duprees, and we don’t know how long the darkness will last,” Vernon tells them. “But the sun will rise,” he promises them.

A Surprising Move

Elsewhere, in a darkly lit home, a disgraced Ted opens the front door to reveal a dejected Eva. Both are still in their party clothes from the evening. “I had nowhere else to go,” a tearful Eva says, explaining her presence. Will her father slam the door in her face or take her in?
