Enemy of My Enemy

The action in the Beyond the Gates spoilers preview video for the week of July 7 opens at Orphey Gene’s. Seated at one of the tables in the diner is Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) but she’s not alone. She’s with Hayley (Marquita Goings). “So, friend, how are we going to help each other?” Leslie asks. Hayley eyes her, clearly sizing the woman up.

On the Case

Down at the precinct, Smitty (Mike Manning) pays Jacob (Jibre Hordges) another visit. The two have been working together to figure out exactly what is going on with Jacob’s partner, Det. Marcel Malone (Darryl W. Handy). “I found a connection between Malone and Vernon,” Smitty confides to the young detective. Jacob looks blown away by the news about the grandfather of his wife, Naomi (Arielle Prepetit).

A Tough Question

Over at the country club, Dani (Karla Mosley) is seated at a table with her father, Vernon (Clifton Davis), but he’s obviously distracted. “‘Daddy!’ Dani yells, trying to get his attention. “Is what is bothering you related to Martin?” she asks. She has no idea how close she is to the truth about her nephew Martin’s (Brandon Claybon) involvement.

Big Worry

Naomi is placing a call to her husband, and she’s pretty upset. “I’m at the hospital, Jacob. Please come quick. It’s an emergency,” she tells him. Does this have anything to do with the homeless woman June (Jasmine Burke), they’ve been helping, or is someone else in trouble?

Bigger Trouble

In the casino’s poker room for big spenders, Randy (Maurice P. Kerry) is talking with Joey (Jon Lindstrom) when Doug enters (Jason Graham). “What the hell?” Doug asks. Joey reaches for a gun, though the timing of the move isn’t immediately clear. The next scene shows Doug with Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) and she asks Randy, “Are you afraid of Joey?” His answer is blunt: “Terrified.”

Sister Act

Over at Ted’s office at the hospital, his two daughters are at each other’s throats, metaphorically, once again. Eva (Ambyr Michelle) has had it with her half sister, Kat (Colby Muhammad), and says to her, “You’re a spoiled, selfish little bitch.” Kat walks towards her and responds, “Is that the best you got?”

Playing with Fire

Outside of the bar, Andre (Sean Freeman) has Ashley (Jen Jacob) on his arm, helping her get her first date post-Derek out of the way. He asks her, “You ready to turn some heads?” What he isn’t counting on is being spotted holding Ashley’s hands by a violent Dani, who slams something hard on the bar and shoots him a look that would make any smart man nervous.
