Veteran soap actor Anthony Crivello joins The Locher Room on Friday, January 31 at 3 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. PT to reflect on his friendship with his former One Life to Live co-star, the late Thom Christopher. Christopher portrayed Carlo Hesser, who was the father of Crivello’s character, Johnny Dee Hesser. The actor will share heartfelt memories of the Daytime Emmy-winning actor.

Memory Lane

Crivello first appeared in daytime on a 1985 episode of Guiding Light, then played Boatman on Bold and Beautiful in 1987 and Cal on Another World in 1989 — but it was in 1990 that he would make a more sustained mark on the genre when he was cast as Johnny Dee on OLTL. Johnny wanted to help his father so he tried to scare off Viki, who was the mayor of Llanview at the time, but his handiwork ended up paralyzing the town official. She eventually killed him (while another one of her personalities, Niki, was in charge of her psyche) in self-defense. Johnny Dee was also briefly involved with Tina Lord, Viki’s baby sister, and when Tina became pregnant, she wasn’t sure who the daddy was, Johnny Dee or Cord Roberts, her ex-husband. The child, Sarah, proved to be Cord’s.

Crivello is also known for his Tony-winning performance as Valentin in Kiss of the Spider Woman and has graced Broadway in iconic productions like Les Misérables, Evita, and The Phantom of the Opera: The Las Vegas Spectacular. His TV credits span fan favorites like Seinfeld, Frasier, CSI: NY, Star Trek: Voyager and 2017’s Feud as David Lean and on the big screen in films like Independence Day and Crocodile Dundee II.

The actor will provide a glimpse into his exciting current projects, including his starring role as Chief D.W. Johnson in the independent bank heist film The Omro Heist. He’ll also discuss the upcoming five-part audio anthology Maria Goretti / The Saints, where he portrays Alessandro Serenelli, and his voiceover work in Warner Brothers Animation’s Batman: Knightfall Part 1 and the Harry Potter-inspired Quidditch game for WB Games.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from one of the industry’s most versatile performers as he shares stories from his remarkable career, behind-the-scenes insights and his plans for 2025.
