As they huddled in their jaunty SUV for warmth, Katie prayed that Brad's confession of love had been a dream. She got out of the car, freaking out in the fluffy white snow. Brad awoke and immediately went looking for his AWOL co-host. Panicked Katie called Vienna for advice on their romantic complication and then made her way back to the car. Poor Brad, meanwhile, slipped and fell. Katie found him unconscious. After he woke up, they bantered despite his pain. "I don't think I can move," he admitted. Oh, no, his leg was broken!
At the Oakdale PD, Jack and Margo discussed Dusty's murder like it was some dude they barely knew. The list of suspects, however? All too familiar. "He was a pain the butt — I really liked him," Margo said, finally, of "the victim." At Memorial, Holden flashed back on Lily telling him Dusty was dead and greeted Jack, who questioned Holden about Lily's overdose. Was he questioning Holden as a cousin or a cop? "Holden, this is official," Jack confirmed. (Holy conflict of interest, Batman!) Holden said he was with Lily when Dusty was offed. Jack seemed skeptical. "What are you implying, Jack?"
Uh, maybe that someone in the room killed the Dustman? On cue, a loopy Lily awoke. After Holden got rid of Jack, it was time to recap: yes, Dusty was still dead and they were together all night. (Aw, mutual alibis! How sweet!)
When Jack returned, Lily told him she remembered nothing except that Holden was with her, and Holden wheeled her out of the room. Suspicious Jack asked Susan if she'd seen anything "out of the ordinary." Home at the farm, Holden promised Lily he'd take care of her. After he sent her upstairs, he opened the door to Bonnie. Awk.Ward. He got rid of her and stashed Lily's incriminating syringe in a cabinet.
Susan wondered if Chris had seen Emily. Baby Doc Hughes really didn't care where Em was. Ouch. Paul found shell-shocked Em in church. She told Paul what happened as Margo found Chris and asked for his take on last night's horrible events. Chris wanted to lawyer up. Luckily Tom arrived. (Holy conflict of interest, again.) Emily pointed out she was a good suspect in this murder, being a card-carrying member of the Looney Tunes Club. Oddly enough, despite the fact that she shot him that one time, Paul was nice to her. Besides, he could empathize, given his recent losses. Back at Memorial, Barbara got tumor talk from her doctor. He hoped radiation would shrink it enough for him to operate. No, she hadn't yet told the family. Nearby, Margo questioned her brother-in-law with her husband looking on. Oy. Paul told Emily about losing Meg's baby and they bonded over losing baby Jennifer, too. "Meg said there's something broken about me," Paul whispered. Em reassured him and thanked him for his kindness. Back at Memorial, Barbara ran into Tom, who filled her in on Dusty's death. It totally blew her mind. She ended up at the chapel, talking to Paul about Dusty and Johnny and planning Dusty's funeral. At the Lakeview, Chris warned Emily to keep quiet about all his dirty dealings or he'd spill her dirty secrets: "Your motives for wanting Dusty dead are just as strong as mine."

Jack and Margo discussed a "substance" found in dead Dusty's bloodstream and, of course, the suspect rundown (meaning their friends and neighbors). Craig popped by with coffee and donuts, boggled that Margo considered him a suspect. He had hoped for some family bonding. Aw. Barbara arrived at the farm to discuss Dusty's death and funeral with Meg. She also offered condolences about the baby. Elsewhere, Rosanna spilled the whole sorry story to Carly, who had no advice on how to win back Paul this time around. Rosanna then got woozy. Back at the station, Craig managed to squeeze in some family talk, but Margo tried to pin a motive for Dusty's death on him. Down on the farm, Barbara tried to get Meg to forgive Paul and Meg ranted about the Craig vs.
Paul feud, declaring, "I'm done with both of them!" In the interrogation room, Margo told Craig to lawyer up: wanting to kill Dusty (as he's wanted to for years) makes him a suspect! Dizzy Ro laughed off her spell and Carly told her to be the woman Paul fell in love with. She tucked her sister under a blanket and left. Naturally, Rosanna then leapt up. She arrived at the farm to "get my husband." Meg, however, didn't have her hubby. Cue a big ol'
argument and Meg kicking Rosanna out. Craig left Meg a pleading message and ran into bitter Babs, who warned him not to show up at Dusty's funeral. On the porch, Ro and Meg went for Round Two as Meg admitted she loves Paul but doesn't want him anymore. Later, Craig and Meg nearly crossed paths and Rosanna left an urgent voicemail for Paul.
Broken-legged Brad and Katie kept snarking in the woods. Katie feared he'd freeze to death "or get eaten by wolves" if she left him to get help, so she helped him up. They pretty much automatically fell again. Brad was highly amused — it had to be the pain! They tried, again, to get moving and finally made it to the SUV. Too bad the battery was dead. Katie struggled to keep woozy Brad awake by getting him to name 10 things she likes. ("Busting my butt, Snickers, pepparkakor...") She snuggled close to him and kissed him, trying to warm him up. When he got more alert, Katie went off to find a stronger signal for her cell phone. Of course, the minute she left, he passed out. Katie called 911 as Brad fell out of the car. She swore to make things up to him, and he hoped that meant a makeout session.
In Old Town, pouty Parker was hanging out with surly friends who were gasp! smoking. Jack caught him and reminded him that he's grounded and can't hang out with gasp! smokers. Parker pointed out his mom hangs out with a felonious ventriloquist. (In teen terms, Jack just got "owned.") At Metro, Sam asked Carly out for dinner and she awkwardly turned him down. "Don't spook that filly," Cowboy Jack advised Sam. Parker told Jack he didn't trust Sam. He and Jack shared a very wry and funny scene about Parker's issues. Jack told Parker to give Carly some credit: no way would she fall for some guy whose BFF was a "wooden doll." Meanwhile, Sam got a call from non-wooden Kit and told her not to call Carly. No dummy (pun intended!), Kit got suspicious. Naturally Sam reassured her. At Al's, Jack told Parker to keep his nose clean and take care of himself. Back at Metro, Sam garnered Carly's sympathy by telling her that Kit had dumped him. She went to dinner with him to cheer him up and he asked her to dance with him to cheer him up, too. Jack got a warrant to pick up Dusty's "effects" at the Lakeview. Naturally, he spied Sam and Carly dancing together. Yep, it was awkward.

Barbara, Will and Gwen agreed to attend Dusty's service as a family. Sofie arrived and offered to watch Hallie, but they already had a sitter. At the Snyder farm, Holden examined the syringe he hid for Lily. She suddenly rushed through the kitchen, worried that she had hurt Dusty. "Dusty's dead," Holden told her. Lily fretted because she couldn't remember anything. Meg arrived for Dusty's funeral. Lily wanted to attend as well. Holden said she owes him "nothing!" but she insisted. At the church, Lucinda scolded Craig for even being there, and suggested Craig had motive to get rid of his business rival. A clearly angry Meg arrived and scolded Craig for showing his face. Then Barbara arrived and scolded Craig for showing his face. Gwen was concerned about Barbara's speech impediment.
Elsewhere, Emily dreamed of Chris' anger over her sleeping with Dusty and her vowing to get "payback." She was awakened by Alison. Emily said Dusty told Chris she used to be a hooker. At police headquarters, Margo told Dallas to track down a cell number from Dusty's phone while she went to the funeral. At the church, Lily flashed back to entering the hospital stairwell. "Maybe I saw who killed Dusty," she suggested. Susan remembered seeing Holden hide a syringe. Gwen phoned Grace to check on Hallie. In Old Town, Sofie ran into Grace and Hallie, and fussed over the child.
The minister began the ceremony (even if the Dustman's body was not present) by inviting people to talk. As Ali took the podium, Emily arrived, and every head turned. Ali noted she'd been through a lot with the deceased. "Dusty saved me," she noted. "He believed in me." Will said Dusty had a tough shell, but "underneath it all, he was really just a big teddy bear." Holden stopped Lily from speaking. Lucinda spoke of giving Dusty his first job, and noted his death was "an abomination — and somebody's got to pay for it!" On that note, the minister wrapped. Emily hung back to scold Dusty's picture.
Turned out Lily stuck around too — and accused Emily of leading Dusty to his death. Lily said Dusty didn't reveal Emily's secret; one of the other hookers did. Emily was devastated. "What have I done?" she cried. She told Susan, "It's my fault Dusty's gone."
At police HQ, Dallas said Dusty was calling a DNA expert named Neal Perkins the day he died. Then Susan came in to report she saw Holden next to an unattended drug cart, but she didn't see him with any syringe. Margo told Dallas to get a search warrant for the Snyder farm. In Old Town, Meg watched as Ali ran into Grace and Sofie. Then Craig appeared and demanded Meg let him run Montgomery Enterprises. She agreed, as long as he never contacts her. He gloated to Lucinda that he won at last. Gwen and Will arrived home just as Grace and Sofie brought back Hallie. After Grace and Sofie left, Will decided to set some boundaries. At Al's, Holden told Lily she could stay at the farm. "You're my hero," she said. When they went home, they found Margo and Dallas waiting with the syringe. They arrested Holden.

The doctor advised Brad he can get by without a hard cast as long as he doesn't stand or walk more than a few steps. At Metro, Carly discovered Sam soaking wet after losing an argument with the boiler. As he was changing, Jack walked in to find Carly with a shirtless Sam. Carly laughed off the awkward scene, and said the grounded Parker should be allowed to attend the school dance tonight to "blow off some steam." Then Katie called to inform Jack that Brad has a broken leg. Jack stopped by the farm to inform Parker he could go to the dance — with a 10 p.m. curfew. After Jack left for the hospital, Parker's buddy showed up. At the hospital, Jack told Brad about Dusty's murder and Holden being arrested.
At Metro, Sam said the boiler cannot be fixed, and since they cannot open, he suggested going out for drinks. At Yo's, he drank a lot of beer and held Carly's hand. Parker skulked in the background and watched Sam put the moves on Carly. When she resisted, Sam apologized for taking stupid liberties, but she's just so beautiful. She consoled him with a hug. In the alley outside, Parker warned Sam to stay away from his mother "or else." Sam teased him about trying to get booze. (Hey, at least they weren't smoking again!) Katie went to Al's, where Vienna bubbled and Henry blustered over the situation with Brad. As Henry and Vienna began bickering, Katie fled back to her room, where Brad suggested there's no room at the farm, so he asked to move in with her. After all, Katie did promise to make it up to him. So Katie helped Brad (who was loopy on painkillers) into bed in her room. When Jack arrived, Brad claimed Katie insisted on taking him home. He told Katie he didn't want Jack to feel inadequate because he has enough on his plate.
Rosanna summoned an angry Paul, who insisted on going through with the divorce because he blames her for costing him his child. She suggested flying to the Caribbean to get a divorce by tomorrow. Later, on the Cabot jet, Ro revealed that they are headed not for divorce in the Caribbean, but an island love nest in the Pacific. "Maybe we'll fall in love again," she giggled. Furious, Paul went to the pilot, who brought them back to Oakdale. On the ground, Ro threatened to contest the divorce. But Paul introduced a cop who wanted to question Ro about switching Meg's medical records. "I don't love you anymore," Paul intoned. (Ya think?)
Back home, Carly told Sam she wants to keep their relationship all business.
He said he couldn't do that. She said she means no more "touchy-feely" stuff. He agreed — then kissed her good night (on the cheek). Meanwhile, Parker and his buddies sneaked into Metro (Hey, at least they weren't smoking!), where Parker stole Cowboy Jack. When Sam returned he was shocked to find his puppet gone. He called Carly to accuse Parker, but she didn't buy it. When Parker returned to the farm, Jack praised him for meeting curfew. Upstairs, Parker was shocked to find Cowboy Jack in his bed!
Henry and Vienna visited Brad and Katie. Henry scolded Katie for reverting to form (remember, she nursed Mike back to health) and encouraging Brad.
Separately, Vienna praised Brad for his clever plan. Later, when they were alone, Brad encouraged Katie to share the bed. But she said she didn't want to take a chance on hurting him, so she booked a room next door.

Carly told Jack that Sam suspected Parker stole Cowboy Jack. Daddy Jack asked Parker, who said he doesn't know where the puppet is, and doesn't care. He insisted his coach took him to the "stupid dance," just like he said. Satisfied, Carly left. Later, Parker tried to sneak Cowboy Jack outside, but Daddy Jack busted him. Parker claimed he found the puppet in his bed, but Jack was skeptical. When Parker suggested Sam is out to get him, Jack admitted he doesn't trust Sam either. At Metro, Carly told Sam (who was strumming a guitar) Parker doesn't have the doll. She confided that sometimes Parker can "sense what's really going on," but she's sure he's wrong about Sam. The Coach stopped by the farm to check on Parker, who never showed at the dance. Cornered, Parker confessed he went to Yo's, where he saw Sam groping Carly. He further admitted stealing the puppet, but said he trashed it; he didn't bring it home. Sam encouraged Carly not to run herself down; teen boys are moody. He praised her for reinventing herself.
"You deserve to be happy, Carly." Jack called to tell Carly that Parker has the dummy after all. She was distraught that Parker lied again. Sam went to the farm with her, but let her talk to Jack alone while he talked to Cowboy Jack outside. When Parker confronted him, Sam warned: "When you mess with me, bad things happen." Jack and Carly told Parker they are sending him back to therapy. Sam peered in the window to watch Carly and Jack get close.
In Old Town, Lily told Luke and Noah that Holden was being questioned for Dusty's murder. Noah urged Luke to talk to his dad. At that moment, Margo was interrogating Holden. He admitted being angry at Dusty, but made up a story about finding the syringe. Lucinda demanded that Margo release Holden or be sued. Lily begged to speak to her husband, and Margo agreed. Holden resisted lawyers and insisted he was handling things. Then Margo told Holden the forensics tests from the syringe showed the same substance that killed Dusty. Holden refused to sing, so she put him under arrest. When Luke burst in, Holden explained the circumstantial case against him. At Al's, Lily flashed back to a hospital conversation in which Holden promised to "take care of everything." Luke called to tell her Holden was charged. Lily asked Bonnie to represent Holden. Bonnie rushed to the station, where Dallas gave her a hard time about seeing Holden. That devolved into bickering about whom she's dating. Holden agreed to talk to Bonnie. Back in Old Town, Luke wondered why his dad seemed more worried about his mom. Noah suggested that on some level, they still love each other. Luke recalled that Holden said, "Dusty won't be a problem anymore." Noah said Holden isn't capable of murder. They hugged meaningfully (but no kissing).
Holden told Bonnie, "I didn't do it." He flashed back to getting the syringe from Lily, but said he found it in the corridor and didn't see her with it.
Bonnie squeezed his hand as Lily watched.
