DA William Bardwell (Ted Shackelford) was assigned the case, so Gloria married him to sideline his investigation. He found out what she did anyway, but suffered a stroke and died.

2008: When Kevin and his fiancée, Jana, wanted to tie the knot at an ashram in Malibu, Gloria was stunned that Michael’s father, Lowell (Michael Gross) — who’d been a wanted man for decades because of a homicide connected to a bank heist — was running the place and going by the name River. Glo and Michael made up with Lowell and helped get the charges against him dropped.
