On ONE LIFE TO LIVE, party girl Niki (Erika Slezak, pictured in 2011) first emerged from Viki's psyche in 1968, the year of the show’s debut. Her other personalities included imperious Jean and fragile 7-year- old Princess.

On DAYS in 1992, troubled Kimberly (Patsy Pease) manifested two alters, Lacey and Clare (pictured).

In 1982, GUIDING LIGHT’s Ross (Jerry verDorn) had his hands full with wife Carrie’s (Jane Elliot) multiple alters (who were also named Carrie).

In 1989, SANTA BARBARA’s Mason (Lane Davies) manifested a new personality, Sonny Sprockett, who tied the knot with Gina (Robin Mattson).

SB’s Eden (Marcy Walker, with A Martinez as Cruz), Mason’s sister, struggled with a splintered personality in 1991. One of her alters was bohemian artist Suzanne.

When ANOTHER WORLD’s Sharlene (Anna Holbrook, with Diego Serrano as Tomas), whose alter Sharly emerged in 1990, returned to Bay City in 1993 after a presumed death in 1991, it was as her new alternate identity: Kate Baker.
