General Hospital’s Luke Saved the World from the Cassadine Weather Machine and More from September 21

In 1981 on General Hospital, Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary, with Genie Francis as Laura Webber) saved the world from Mikkos Cassadine's weather machine. On Cassadine Island, time was running out for Luke as Port Charles was on the verge of freezing, killing all its citizens. Luke had managed to gain access to the machine's control room, but couldn't figure out how to override it. Via an intercom, Robert Scorpio was able to communicate with Luke as he desperately entered codes to unlock the computer system. He realized that "ICE" was part of the code and when he typed in "ICE PRINCESS," he had success! Luke pushed a lever forward, successfully preventing the deep freeze from continuing! Luke, Robert and Laura were all hailed as heroes upon their return to Port Charles.

In 1988, General Hospital’s Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) slept with tennis pro “Ward,” unaware that he was really her nephew-by-marriage, Ned Ashton (Kurt Robin McKinney). Monica was aghast when she realized his true identity ... but her reaction paled in comparison to the rest of the family when they found out! Ned's sexual history with Monica became a particularly challenging fact to contend with when he took up with Dawn Winthrop, who just so happened to be Monica's surprise daughter, who she had given up for adoption years prior.

In 1999, Ridge Forrester (Ronn Moss) and Taylor Forrester (then-Hunter Tylo) welcomed their twin daughters, Phoebe and Steffy, on Bold and Beautiful. While pregnant, Taylor had contracted tuberculosis and was quarantined. She refused medication for fear it could harm the babies. When she went into labor, Taylor began losing a significant amount of blood. After the first baby was born safely, Taylor slipped in and out of consciousness while trying to deliver the second tot. Finally, the little girl was born and once both children were deemed healthy, Taylor flatlined, but she came to and pulled through, much to Ridge's joy.

In 2012, Will Horton (Chandler Massey, l.) and Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) shared their first official kiss on Days of Our Lives. The two had a conversation clearing up the reason that Will had cancelled their date, with Will voicing his concern that he wasn't good enough for Sonny (just as he had overheard Sonny's mother, Adrienne, professing). "Why don't you let me be the judge of that?" replied Sonny, and at long last, the future spouses shared a tender smooch. This marked the first same-sex romantic kiss to take place on DAYS.

In 2021 on General Hospital, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Carly Corinthos's (Laura Wright) wedding night did not go as expected when her presumed-dead husband/his best friend and colleague, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), showed up alive just as the newlyweds were about to consummate their marriage! Said marriage, of course, was rendered invalid by Sonny's return. Carly had fainted immediately upon laying eyes on Sonny, and when she came to, Sonny did his best to explain where he'd been all these months and how he'd only recently regained his memory. He then asked the pair to explain what he'd missed, and Jason revealed that he and Carly had gotten married. As they filled him in on the power struggle that had ensued with the Five Families in Sonny's absence, Sonny told Carly and Jason that they'd made a smart move by tying the knot. What they did not tell him right away was that genuine feelings had blossomed between them.
