Shemar Moore Returned to Young and Restless and Other Big Moments from September 10

In 1984, the syndicated soap Rituals premiered. Set in the fictional town of Wingfield, Virginia, the series was developed by Gene Palumbo, Joyce Corrington and John William Corrington and Clifford Champion and enjoyed a 260-episode run. Among the notable cast members it featured were Mary Beth Evans (Kayla, Days of Our Lives, pictured), Jon Lindstrom (Kevin, General Hospital, pictured) and Kin Shriner (Scott, GH).

In 1984, supercouple Frisco Jones (Jack Wagner) and Felicia Cummings (Kristina Wagner) met for the first time on General Hospital. In a 2019 interview with Soap Opera Digest, Kristina Wagner noted of the duo's enduring popularity with fans, "We just made them feel good. We made them feel safe, made them feel accepted, we gave them the fantasy that they had always dreamed of and they got to go on that ride. I’m so honored beyond belief that I was in that position — with Jack [who she was previously married to in real life], no less — to go through this journey. It’s an unusual circumstance that I was lucky to have.”

In 2014, Shemar Moore returned to Young and Restless as Malcolm Winters, who helped his brother, Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John), cope with his blindness. Moore had become a soap superstar during his original run on the show, which lasted from 1994-2005. The actor earned a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor for his work as Malcolm in 2000. Prior to Moore's reprisal, the show had recast Malcolm with Darius McCrary from 2009-11.

In 2019 on General Hospital, a major turning point occurred in the long baby-swapping saga of Wiley Corinthos, as Brad Cooper (Parry Shen, l.) confessed to his father-in-law, Julian Jerome (William deVry) that the baby Brad and an unwitting Lucas were raising was actually the believed-to-be-dead son of Michael Corinthos and Nelle Benson. Julian was flabbergasted as Brad poured out the story of Liesl Obrecht delivering Nelle's baby, and Nelle subsequently talking him into passing off her child as the boy he and Lucas were poised to adopt (who had tragically and suddenly passed away). Brad admitted that he had thrown Liesl off The Haunted Star in a panic when he believed the doc was about to blow up the big secret, and begged Julian to kill Obrecht for him.

In 2019 on Young and Restless, a party was thrown to celebrate the opening of the Grand Phoenix Hotel. One of the guests, Summer Newman's influencer pal Zoe, spiked the sangria with drugs. Many of the partygoers felt the effects, some of which were innocuous (Mariah got the giggles), some of which were far more serious. Devon Hamilton, for instance, hallucinated the presence of his late wife, Hilary, and became understandably agitated, while Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), who was on medication to treat her bipolar disorder, had a bad reaction to the mixture of the chemicals and collapsed! Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) summoned medical assistance for her.
