Five Things That Happened On March 30 In Soap History

In 1983, Anna Fredericks (Leann Hunley) and Tony DiMera (Thaao Penglis) married for the first time on Days of Our Lives. It was not a particularly romantic wedding for the duo, whose love story would ultimately endure for decades. Anna, who was attracted to Tony's massive fortune, drugged him in Las Vegas and managed to tie the knot with him with help from a corrupt justice of the peace!

In 1994, Karen Wexler (Cari Shayne) and John "Jagger" Cates said, "I do" on General Hospital. The couple's wedding took place at Kelly's Diner, and Daniel Lavoie (pictured) was on hand to serenade them during their first dance. Among the guests were Jagger's siblings, Gina and Stone; Karen's mother, Rhonda; Robin Scorpio and Jason Quartermaine. At the end of the episode, Rhonda made a shocking confession to Karen, telling her that Karen's biological father is Scott Baldwin! 

In 2005, Jennifer Landon (pictured with Jesse Soffer as Will Munson) made her As the World Turns debut as Gwen Norbeck. The actress, whose late father is TV legend Michael Landon, won three consecutive Daytime Emmys for her work on the show, nabbing the Outstanding Younger Actress statuette in 2006, 2007 and 2008. She exited the show in 2008, but returned in its final year on the air, 2010. Since her ATWT days, Landon played Heather Stevens on Young and Restless and achieved success in prime-time with her role on Yellowstone.

In 2012 on Days of Our Lives, Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) could barely contain his glee in Alamania after successfully transforming Hope back into Princess Gina (Kristian Alfonso) and John back into The Pawn. "John, my pawn. Princess Gina. Welcome back," he gushed. The pair was shocked to learn how many years had passed since they had last materialized after Stefano filled them in. He then told Gina and The Pawn that if they wanted to stick around, they had to return the designer egg from Czarist Russia that they had stolen from him years before.

In 2017, Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) impulsively popped the question to his lady love, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst), on General Hospital. Franco first had a conversation with his ex-lover, Nina Reeves, who advised him to do what was necessary not to lose Liz, while Liz received counsel from Kiki about how to manage her relationship with Franco in light of Jason's upset over Franco's role in Jake's life. When Franco arrived at the hospital, he spotted Liz and almost immediately, dropped to one knee and proposed to her.
