In 1993, Bryan R. Dattilo made his Days of Our Lives debut as Lucas Roberts. In 2015, the actor recalled to Soap Opera Digest, "I did my screen test with Christie Clark [Carrie]. I was 21, but when I was like 15, I had an acting class with her. I had to kiss her in the scene and I remember being really nervous and not doing it, letting the beat pass with just a look at her. The first thing [Executive Producer] Ken Corday said was, ‘Dude, why didn’t you kiss her?’ I was like, ‘We kind of know each other and I’d feel weird kissing her without asking her. I’ll kiss her now if you want!’ They said, ‘You can kiss her in the callback.’ I did and it was a really good kiss. She told them that she wanted the guy who looks like Tom Cruise, which I guess was me!”

The actress would go on to play two roles on Days of Our Lives (Ava Vitali and Taylor Walker) and one on All My Children (Reese Williams) before returning to GH in 2017 in a new role, Kim Nero. In 2023, the actress told Soap Opera Digest that landing on GH "changed my life in every way. I told Mark Teschner [casting director] at the time, and since, that he changed my acting life. The truth is, he changed my life, period. I was a banquet server at the Four Seasons Hotel and doing massage therapy while auditioning to try and get a job. And then I quit acting, really quit, was done, the moment I walked out of that third audition. No more Hollywood. No more of this business, which can be pretty awful in many ways. I’d probably be practicing the healing arts in Colorado and have a family if it hadn’t been for GH."
