During an “Ask Me Anything” live chat on Facebook, Y&R superstar Eric Braeden pulled no punches about the former regime at the show. When asked what happened to Victor Newman’s office set, the actor replied, “Well, let me be honest with you. There was an attempt by the former executive producer and head writer to diminish the role of Victor Newman,” he said, without naming Mal Young specifically. “I’ll say it very clearly and very succinctly, he attempted to diminish it, to bring the character down… Never forgive him for that, but he’s gone… Bye bye!” See the video here.
