Y&R/B&B Photo Shoot 2004

Comments

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS’ and THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL’s under-25 sets got together to strut their stuff for the cameras on March 5. With the music blaring on a Y&R stage, these kids were dressed to thrill. Here’s a look at the future of Y&R and B&B and a behind-the-scenes peak at the “Next Generation” promo campaign now airing on CBS. “I’m glad we didn’t do this in character,” reveals Y&R’s David Lago (Raul), whose sporting his father’s vintage brown leather jacket and jeans. “I got to rough up my hair a bit and look more like myself, and didn’t have to cover my tattoo. That was cool. And the girls are sexy!”
“They had us posing like the L-Word!” laughs Y&R’s Camryn Grimes (Cassie), who was thrilled to be part of the action. “I’m glad that I’m with all these cool people. Hopefully I’ll be with them [in storyline] soon. I’d like to see Cassie in the high school group. Then they’d give her a little more to work with and maybe even give her a little romance.””It was a lot of waiting around, but fun,” Y&R’s Christel Khalil (Lily) says of the shoot. “The guys are in jeans and Ashley (Bashioum, Mac) is in a skirt and tank top — and I’m in this crazy go-go dress! It’s cute, but it’s not me. Thad (Luckinbill, J.T.) called me a Fembot: You know the robots from Austin Powers that [shoot bullets from their chests]? I feel a little uncomfortable in it. I’m a lot more laid back, with jeans or cargo pants and a tank top.”“We shot the promo shoot for CBS and then there was a photo shoot,” explains Ashley Bashioum, who had no complaints about returning to the Y&R set two weeks before her first official start date as Mac. “This is one of my favorite things to do, photo shoots. I can’t wait to start working.”

“It was different because we’re trained not to look at the camera and all of a sudden, they’re like, ‘Look at the camera!'” B&B’s Kayla Ewell (Caitlin) says of the shoot. “It was weird, but it was very fun dancing around to the music.” “Don’t get all technical about it,” co-star Drew Tyler Bell (Thomas) chides. “All we did was stand there and they told us which way to move our heads.”

First up for the day were Emily Harrison (Bridget) and Brian Gaskill (Oscar). Because they were in and out so fast, this B&B pair missed out on mingling with their younger counterparts. They may have missed the party, but they look great!
