Y&R Tackles Real-Life Tale

Comments

Y&R has teamed up with The American Heart Association to raise awareness about women’s heart disease, the No. 1 killer of women in the United States. In yesterday’s episode, Jill was hospitalized after suffering a heart attack. In the new issue of Digest, Executive Producer Mal Young talks about why Jill was the right character to propel this medical tale. “Jill is stubborn and her own person and doesn’t like to be told what to do,” he points out. “The character felt like the perfect choice to show how dramatically a woman’s lifestyle can change as a result of heart disease — especially using a character who appears to strong and resistant to taking advice.” For more from Young about how this story will impact Jill and her family in the weeks to come, check out the new issue.
