Y&R Alum Reveals He Contemplated Suicide

Michael Muhney (ex-Adam, Y&R) revealed on Twitter that he had considered taking his own life in the past few years. “I’d think about my life insurance policy for my wife & kids,” he tweeted. “I’d imagine drifting across that double-yellow line into oncoming traffic and ending it all. All over a grotesque internet rumor & lie.” The actor, whose contract with Y&R wasn’t renewed in 2014 after a five-year run, notes that he sought help, and credits the “love and support from my mom and wife” for getting him through those challenging times. Muhney concluded, “It has taken me years to publicly admit this. I’ve been afraid to share. Ashamed. Embarrassed. But on this day I want to share this story in hopes that if you’re depressed, if you’re in the dark place, talk to somebody. Get help.” To read the post in it’s entirety, click here.
