Ken Howard, who portrayed Phyllis and Avery’s father, George, passed away yesterday at the age of 71. The actor was also the president of SAG-AFTRA. Jessica Collins (ex-Avery, Y&R) paid tribute to the actor on Twitter, "very sad to hear of the passing of Ken Howard. A brilliant actor, a true professional, a lovely man. I was lucky to know and work with him." No official cause of death has been released.
