Y&R Alum Fired For Inappropriate Tweets

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hartley Sawyer (ex-Kyle, Y&R) has been fired from his current job on THE FLASH due to his past tweets containing racist, misogynist and  homophobic comments. The actor, who played Kyle from 2013 to 2014 and has been starring on the CW superhero series for three seasons as Ralphy Dibny (also known as The Elongated Man), was let go after his offensive social media posts resurfaced. Although Sawyer’s Twitter account has been deleted, screen shots of his insensitive tweets circulated online. A joint statement released to Deadline.com from Warner Bros. TV, The CW, Berlanti Productions and Executive Producer Eric Wallace affirmed, “Hartley Sawyer will not be returning for Season 7 of The Flash. In regards to Mr. Sawyer’s posts on social media, we do not tolerate derogatory remarks that target any race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, or sexual orientation. Such remarks are antithetical to our values and polices, which strive and evolve to promote a safe, inclusive and productive environment for our workforce.”  To read the full article click, here
