Young and Restless Alum Max Ehrich Arrested For Domestic Violence, Allegedly Assaulting His Mother
Max Ehrich, who Young and Restless fans will recall from his 2012-15 run as Fenmore Baldwin, Michael and Lauren’s son, was arrested for domestic violence on Tuesday, October 7. The actor was charged with one count of battery on a person 65 years of age or older, Us Weekly confirmed.
The news was first reported by TMZ, whch reported that the Y&R alum was released on Wednesday after posting $1,000 bail. On Thursday, TMZ further reported that the arrest took place in Florida, where Ehrich resides, after the cops received a domestic violence call alleging that Ehrich had assaulted his mother while livestreaming on social media.
Early in his Y&R days, Ehrich told Soap Opera Digest of joining the troubled Baldwin clan, “I feel like I fit right in with all their dysfunction,” adding, “I’m a very eccentric human being myself and lean toward the offbeat. Both Fenmore and I feel a part of the Baldwins. I could never fit into a box family. That’s not me whatsoever. I seriously love dysfunction.” He had high praise for the bullying storyline crafted for his character, noting that the tale “proves that bullies aren’t necessarily bad people. A lot of times, they are hurting inside and take it out on others because they don’t know what else to do with that negative energy except push it onto someone else.” During his years on the show, Ehrich racked up four Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Younger Actor.
The actor made headlines of a different sort back in 2020, when he was romantically linked to pop superstar Demi Lovato. The duo announced their engagement in July of that year, after a whirlwind, four-month courtship. “@maxehrich – I knew I loved you the moment I met you.” Lovato wrote at the time on Instagram. “It was something I can’t describe to anyone who hasn’t experienced it firsthand but luckily you did too. I’ve never felt so unconditionally loved by someone in my life (other than my parents) flaws and all. You never pressure me to be anything other than myself. And you make me want to be the best version of myself. I’m honored to accept your hand in marriage. I love you more than a caption could express but I’m ecstatic to start a family and life with you. I love you forever my baby. My partner. Here’s to our future!!!!”
In September, however, the engagement was called off and Ehrich and Lovato went their separate ways. Ehrich indicated in an Instagram post that he was blindsided by the split, writing, “Imagine finding out the status of your relationship through a tabloid…..While [you’re] in the middle of filming a biopic movie about a Pastor in a Christian Church whose intention of the film is to help people. God bless.”
Ehrich — who is a musician as well as an actor — subsequently released a single, “Afraid,” about the emotional toll of falling in love.
