Nick asked if Phyllis was still mad at him for keeping the secret about Sharon’s kidnapping and Brad’s past. Phyllis said she had been hurt by the news, but she wasn’t mad at him. The two kissed. Nick called Michael and invited the Baldwins over to his and Phyllis’ place for New Year’s Eve, and Michael accepted. Soon after, Lauren called to cancel. Lauren put Fen down for a nap and waited for Michael to come home. Phyllis and Nick arrived and
brought the party to them. Phyllis suggested they go out, but Lauren wanted to order in. Phyllis snapped plenty of photographs. Lauren refused to let anyone touch Fen. Phyllis pointed out to Michael that something was wrong with
Lauren. Michael didn’t think so, but Lauren looked quite neurotic.
Korbel asked Colleen why Victoria resigned from the art benefit and refused to
hand over any pieces from the Newman collection. He wondered if the family had a problem with him. Colleen said no, and promised she would never tell anyone about their night together.
Viewers learned that Paul has been keeping Sheila locked up in a cage — a cage with a nursery set up for Fen and Lauren, whom she had planned to kidnap. Sheila vowed that Paul would pay for this, but Paul strongly doubted that.
Sheila promised to stay away from Lauren and her baby. Paul ignored her and left. Sheila
began pacing and ranting. She claimed that Lauren would never be safe from her. Sheila told herself that her goal was to escape and then impersonate Phyllis (whose face she’s already taken, thanks to plastic surgery). It was payback time. “Payback is a bitch,” Sheila intoned.
At Katherine’s, Korbel ran into Colleen. [AWKWARD.] Amber asked Katherine if she thought there was another Phillip out there. Paul and JT arrived;
Victor greeted them. Pop opera stars Il Divo performed at the party. Colleen saw that Korbel was with Amber. Victor vowed to Nikki that he will find Brad’s elusive reliquary, “come hell or high water.”
There was lots of kissing when the clock struck twelve for everyone…except a wistful-looking Katherine. Katherine was haunted by the memory of what she did years ago that involved a baby. Suddenly, she remembered it all.
