Lauren woke up in Michael’s apartment on the morning of her wedding. Michael came in with breakfast on a platter and kisses to spare, promising her plenty of happy tomorrows. Meanwhile, Sheila woke up Tom by taking his picture, claiming it was for his passport when they skip the country after kidnapping Lauren (riiight). Sharon prepared for her business trip to St. Louis, sending Noah off to school and working on Nick to come with her after all. He still declined, sending Sharon away disappointed.
Victoria flashbacked on her post-coital bliss with Brad. Nikki interrupted and told Vic she was glowing. Enter Brad — just for a second. Nikki caught on and was less than thrilled about their hookup. Nikki left to visit Nicholas, who vented his frustration about the distance between him and Sharon. Back at Newman, Sharon ran into Brad, telling him how much she wished he was going with her to St. Louis. She admitted to calling him the night before and hanging up, saying she “just wanted to hear” his voice. Crushing, anyone? Brad told her things were going well with him and Victoria, which didn’t sit well with Sharon. Vikki showed up and Sharon left, only to double back to jealously watch Victoria and Brad kissing.
Tom grilled Sheila about the kidnapping plan, and found out she doesn’t have it planned out very well. He expressed major doubts about the whole scheme. Sheila dressed up as Jennifer and lurked around the GCAC as the staff prepared for the wedding.
While getting ready to leave for St. Louis, Dru watched Yolanda and Devon get along, but she worried to Neil that Yolanda might still backslide and let down her son. Yolanda raved about Dru’s traveling threads and gushed about her “exciting” life.
Gloria blew in on Michael and Lauren, thrilled the wedding day had finally arrived. Seconds later, Lauren’s mother (the fabulous Susan Seaforth Hayes) blew in herself, leaving Lauren flabbergasted. Joanna noted that Lauren didn’t bother to send her an invitation, but she hoped her presence wouldn’t be too much of a shock (too late!). She promptly threw Michael out of his own apartment, citing it was bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding. Lauren introduced her to Glo, who was also blown away by Ms. Manning. Glo: “How do you do?” Joanna: “I do very well, thank you.” Joanna went on to hit on “the handsome hunk of man” that is Scott before Lauren introduced him as her grandson, quietly dissed Glo’s wedding invitations and assumed she would be giving away the bride until she was told that was Scott’s job.
When Sheila stole the seating chart, Glo and Joanna ran out to the GCAC to fix things, clearing the way for Tom. Church bells rang as he let himself into the apartment and doused his handkerchief with chloroform….
