A naked Phyllis and Nicholas were on the couch kissing (What happened to beds?), when Daniel came home. In split-screen mode, Phyll whirled around, hair flying, as the door opened. Meanwhile, on the lower screen, a grossed-out Daniel’s mouth fell open. Poor kid. Which is worse? Walking in on Mom having sex on the couch where you probably watch TV, or walking in on Mom having sex with the married man who’s become your mentor? Phyllis tried to “talk about it” with her son, but he understandably didn’t want to stick around and fled.
Nick followed Daniel to Crimson Lights, where Sharon also was. Daniel told them that he’s quitting as Noah’s assistant coach. After Sharon stepped out, Nick tried to calm Daniel, but the teen wouldn’t hear of it. Phyllis then called, but Daniel ignored it. Sharon came back in and noted the tension between the guys. Daniel couldn’t even look at her as she told him to “[not] be a stranger.”
Dru continued to fret about Lily’s whereabouts. A moving screen then took us to Lily (Did the special effects crew get a discount today or something?), who was contemplating her situation. After, Dru questioned Colleen about her daughter; Coll explained that no matter what they do, they won’t be able to change Lily’s mind about Daniel. “She’s crazy about him,” said Colleen. “Crazy being the operative word,” replied Dru, who begged Colleen to convince her friend to come home.
Neil met with Christine (Hello, Cricket, it’s been a while.) and asked what his legal rights are regarding Lily. Chris bristled when Neil insulted Daniel, reminding him how the teen has tried to make amends for his past misdoings. “Maybe Daniel has changed,” Neil allowed, then went on to list how Lily had changed for the worse since meeting him. Chris reluctantly explained how he could get the law involved with his Lily problem.
Sharon met with Dru for work. Dru confessed to Sharon that Lily running away is her worst nightmare. Sharon pointed out that everyone makes mistakes and Dru should just be glad her daughter is still alive. Dru didn’t think she and Lily could fix their relationship; Sharon stated that it was possible since she and Nick have fixed theirs…. Daniel told Jack he’s sorry for everything that’s happened between Jack and Phyllis. Jack noticed that Daniel was looking glum; Daniel lied that it was only Lily he was concerned about.
Victoria tried to talk to an obviously stressed Nick, but he bit her head off. After, Phyllis called Nick, who reported that he’d seen Daniel. Phyll was desperate to talk to her son. Daniel came home and bitterly told her that he’s ashamed, and wondered how long the affair has been going on. Phyll said it’s over. “Did you even think? What would happen to Sharon and Noah? Did you even feel guilty?” he yelled. “What about Jack?” “I don’t know … I don’t know what I was doing,” sobbed Phyllis. “That’s ridiculous. You guys hated each other a couple of months ago,” he countered. “I think that’s why it happened,” she concluded. “Why were you sleeping with him?” asked Daniel, realizing that every time they’d visited the Newmans, it was under false pretenses. “I never wanted to believe the things Dad or Christine said about you, but after this, I can see they’re right,” he went on, crying. “You destroy people’s lives. You can’t even control yourself. You’re a hypocrite. You told me it would be morally wrong to have Lily come and stay with us when you’re having an affair with a married man. We love each other and we have a commitment with each other, and Mom … we’re honest with each other, which is more than I can say for you right now.” “You can’t tell people the truth,” Phyllis tried to explain. “It’s just not worth hurting them.”
Brad flashed back to Sharon telling him about Victoria sleeping with J.T. (making this three editing tricks). Back in the present, he sat with Victoria in her office …when J.T. walked in. Gulp. “It seems like you’re holding something in,” Vicky astutely noticed. “Oh, you know me, I’m full of secrets,” replied Brad. Smooth one, Carlton. Later, J.T. came to see Colleen and Brad told him to stay away. “It’s not what it seems,” J.T. lamely protested. “You mean you didn’t sleep with my fiancée?” asked Brad. “Okay, it’s exactly what it seems,” J.T. lamely amended. Later, J.T. told Vicky that Brad somehow knows about them…. Colleen couldn’t understand why Brad suddenly didn’t want her dating J.T. Brad shared that J.T. had cheated on Mac.
Victor and Jack discussed Gloria. Jack told off Vic for getting John to give her his proxy. Meanwhile, Glo gave Ashley her assignment and thanked Ash for giving her the opportunity. After Ashley stepped out, Gloria tried on some cosmetics, and a young man stopped by to give Ash a report. Glo took it and realized that the project she’d been given was bogus…. Victor met with Ashley and revealed that he’d learned about Jabot’s new moisturizer from Jack.
Kevin filled in his mom on the goings-on between Mackenzie and J.T. Glo thought Kevin would have a chance with Mac. She then told Kevin about her new job and how Victor had helped her. Kev warned her to be careful when dealing with Victor. Gloria explained that she needs his help because despite everything she’s done, Jack and Ashley haven’t accepted her. She angrily told him how Ashley had given her a fake report to work on … and relished the chance when she’d be able to get revenge. “They have treated me like an idiot from Day One and it’s time I set them straight. I’m going to find every piece of dirt I can on Jack and Ashley Abbott … and what I can’t find, I’ll make up,” she stated.
