WOAK-TV: Kim and Lily own Oakdale’s top-rated Channel 9, home of Kim’s long-running show, PATTERNS. Molly is an anchor, Henry is the former news director and Katie started her career as an ambitious PA. “There was a time when Bob had a little medical show there. He would get in front of the camera and freeze up,” recalls Don Hastings (Bob). “Jack is rarely there,” adds Michael Park (Jack). “But it has an ‘IKEA’ look.” Fun fact: During Katie’s stalker storyline, the actual ATWT studio doubled as WOAK, with cameras showing the real studio’s inner works.
The City Times: Lucinda owns this Oakdale paper of record. The late Jake was once editor-in-chief and Molly at one point wrote a romance-advice column.
The Intruder: Emily runs this tabloid, which Craig presumably still owns. Chris and Henry have worked there.
The Argus: Circulation has gone way down on Lisa’s old newspaper; it’s hardly mentioned anymore, and she sold it when star reporter Tom returned to law.
