Two Heads Are Better Than One

Comments

David Canary (Adam/Stuart): Six-time Daytime Emmy-winner Canary joined AMC in 1983 as tycoon Adam. Not long thereafter, fans were introduced to Adam’s identical twin, Stuart, who was originally portrayed in a somewhat menacing fashion, but in time evolved into the sweet, simple inverse of his cold, calculating brother.
Kate Collins (Natalie/Janet): Collins originated the role of regal if money-grubbing Natalie in 1985; in 1991, AMC added another character to her roster, the role of Natalie’s frumpy, insecure and, lest we forget, psychotic twin sister, Janet. In one of the show’s most famous plots, Janet underwent an extreme makeover, threw Nat down a well and stole her glamorous sister’s identity.
Elizabeth Hendrickson (Frankie/Maggie): Hendrickson was a hit in her three-month, 2001 stint as Mary Frances Stone, a tough-talking teen with whom Bianca became smitten. When the character was killed off, AMC’s writers brought Hendrickson back as Frankie’s heretofore-unknown twin. Bianca eventually became romantically involved with Maggie and the characters left town together in 2005 (though Binks returned solo in ’06 and Mags recently failed to win her back).
Eileen Herlie (Myrtle/Mrs. Kringle): Herlie has been an AMC fixture since 1976 as carnie-turned-confidante Myrtle. She got to stretch her wings in 1996 when Myrt enjoyed a flirtation with Red Kilgren, a.k.a. Santa Clause, doing a brief, dual role as Santa’s better half, Mrs. Kringle.
