Their Cheatin’ Hearts
When Ryan and Kendall hit the sheets this week, it won’t be their first foray into the unseemly world of infidelity, either by sleeping with someone while they were married or by canoodling with someone who was. Here’s a recap of their previous infractions.
Aidan Devane: Kendall cheated on not one but two different fellas with Aidan (okay, only one officially). In 2002, while engaged to Ryan, Kendall was desperate to clear her name when she was wrongly accused of burning down Erica’s house. To gain access to Erica’s penthouse in order to bug it, Kendall sidled up to the contractor, Aidan — and when Ryan caught them in a compromising position, he not only dumped Kendall but left town. In 2007, tragic circumstances led to Kendall and Aidan’s sexual reconnection. He was in love with Greenlee, and she was in love with hubby Zach, when Zach and Greens were presumed dead (really, they were trapped together in a bomb shelter). When Kendall and Aidan became convinced that all hope was lost, they turned to each other in their grief. When their respective loves were saved, they harbored the secret for months, but when it came out, Zach and Greenlee both pardoned the offense.
Hayley Vaughan Santos: Ryan was still in love with ex-wife Gillian, but they were estranged, and Hayley was having difficulties in her marriage to Mateo, paving the way for Ryan and Hayley’s heretofore platonic relationship to take a turn. When Gillian spotted the duo sharing a kiss in 2000, she tattled to Mateo, who accused Hayley of betraying him. But the Ryan/Hayley flirtation never went further than a lip lock.
JR Chandler: In 2005, Kendall entered into a loveless marriage with Zach — and before the union of convenience blossomed into true love, Kendall took JR as a lover. By the time he nearly killed her in 2006, when she fell victim to his scheme to bump off Babe, she was strongly regretting her lack of judgement.
Greenlee Smythe Devane: Ryan was married to Annie, and Greenlee had only recently tied the knot with Aidan, when former marrieds Ryan and Greenlee could no longer deny their lingering love for one another in 2008. Annie and Aidan were both devastated when their respective spouses broke the bad news that they were back together. Ryan and Greens were in fact still married to others when she accepted his marriage proposal.
