Taking Care Of Business
To Di For
The Setup: Back in 2003, Sheila claimed Diana, the tot that she was toting around in Puerto Vista, was fathered by Massimo. Before paternity could be verified, Sheila slipped away. We don’t think a take-charge guy like Massimo would let such an allegation go unchallenged. What If… Marone has been quietly conducting a search for Sheila and her daughter ever since they disappeared? Finally, one of his private investigators reports that Sheila has been tracked to somewhere in Italy. Massimo knows that if Forrester Creations stages a fashion extravaganza there, Sheila would most likely surface. Stephanie agrees to help and convinces Eric to show off his next collection in Venice without telling him the real reason, thus jeopardizing her marriage yet again.
The Payoff: Of course, this would translate into another splashy Italian remote of intrigue, romance (for Ridge and Donna) and beautiful clothes. When Massimo does have that inevitable showdown with Sheila, he’s able to wrest Diana away before the police arrive and Sheila escapes again. A DNA test then proves that the toddler is indeed his and he brings her home. The Fallout: Can you just imagine the great Marone, who has never raised any children, contending with a pouty, demanding 3-year-old? Neither can he as Massimo puts a plan to find a wife and mother for Diana into full force. One More Juicy Detail: Don’t forget, Sheila is still out there.
There’s Something About Harry
The Setup: Nick has been watching over Harry ever since his father, a Marone employee, drowned on the tanker that Nick was navigating. (It sank.) Now Harry has come to L.A. and a guilt-ridden Nick pulls out all the stops to make the young man happy. We watch cunning Harry manipulate Nick into giving him a car, cash and a cushy job at Marone Industries for which he’s woefully underqualified. What If… Massimo warns his son that he’s being too indulgent, but Nick can’t see past his own remorse to believe it? While Massimo is doing detective work, he’s clueless that Harry is hooking up with a smitten but very naive Phoebe. Mass soon discovers that Harry hasn’t been traveling the world on a freighter these past few years like he claims, and then gets suspicious when Harry shows up at an out-of-the-way hotel for a rendezvous. The Payoff: When Massimo bursts into the hotel room, he’s shocked to find Harry … with his supposedly dead father! It seems he survived the tanker accident after all, but has been using his son to extract guilt money from Nick ever since. Massimo is about to call the police when Nick’s dad asks his son to leave so the men can talk. Mass is stunned when he’s advised not to call the police — or else the world will find out that Nick is really Harry’s father via a long-ago affair with his pal’s now-deceased wife. The Fallout: Massimo decides to keep quiet for the time being, but works behind the scenes to find out if Harry could really be his grandson. But Marone better hurry, since Harry could unknowingly be dating his own cousin! One More Juicy Detail: What if an attraction formed between Harry and his sexy stepmommy, Brooke?
