Anxious to find their runaway pals Phillip and Beth, Rick (Michael O’Leary) and Mindy (Krista Tesreau) hit the road during Christmas, 1983. Destination: New York City. The teens soon ran out of money (thanks to Mindy’s impulsive decision to destroy her credit cards) and had to resort to odd jobs in a restaurant to make ends meet.
After a long courtship often thwarted by jealous ex-lovers (like Alan) and embittered psychos (like Eli), Billy (Jordan Clarke) and Vanessa (Maeve Kinkead) finally tied the knot in 1984. Soon after, they celebrated the birth of Harlan Billy Lewis III. It turned into a joyful holiday season when the Lewises brought their newborn son home on Christmas Day, 1984.
In 1997, Harley (Beth Ehlers) returned to Springfield and fell in love with her old friend, Phillip (Grant Aleksander). Their tentative romance hit a bump when his ex-wife, Beth, came roaring back to town, intent on reviving her marriage. Here, Phillip and Harley share their first (and one of their only) happy Christmases together.
The Lemayses’ joyous holiday celebration turned to horror when the Christmas tree caught on fire in 2000. Jim managed to bring the kids to safety, but perished in the blaze. Pictured (from l.): Lizzie (then-Mackenzie Mauzy), Harley, Beth (Beth Chamberlin), Susan (Brittany Snow) and Phillip.
