The complicated teenage love lives of Phillip (Grant Aleksander), Rick (Michael O’Leary), Beth (then-Judi Evans) and Mindy (Krista Tesreau), known as the Four Musketeers, didn’t leave much time for studying at Springfield High in 1983. Class clown Rick had his eye on cheerleader Mindy, while popular rich boy Phillip fell for shy kid Beth. The quartet’s romantic entanglements culminated at their senior prom, when Phillip and Beth were crowned king and queen. Turns out, chemistry was their best subject.
Teenage Bridget (Melissa Hayden) found herself pregnant, sans boyfriend in 1992. Nadine (Jean Carol) was convinced that her floundering marriage to Billy would get a new life if they shared a child, so she concocted a scheme in which Nadine would raise Bridget’s baby. Nadine pretended to be pregnant, while Bridget wore larger sweatshirts. During the last weeks, Bridget told her guardian, Maureen, that she was going on a school trip to the Appalachian Mountains. Actually, Bridget finished out her pregnancy hidden away in the Lewis attic. Maureen never learned what became of Bridget’s Southern excursion: She died while Bridget was in hiding.
