Spencer Pratt Dishes About Bold And Beautiful Cameo With Heidi Montag
Real-life marrieds/reality TV superstars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt add Bold and Beautiful to their list of credits on the show’s April 24 episode. The pair, who first became household names as cast members of MTV’s The Hills back in 2006, plays themselves as guests at the Forrester fashion show, and chatted about their B&B experience in a new interview with TV Insider.
Keeping It Real
“It felt like we’re a real part of Hollywood,” Pratt enthused about his B&B appearance. “Reality TV is fun, but this felt like, ‘Oh, my gosh. This is it.’ ” Pratt made his reality TV debut in 2005 as part of the short-lived The Princes of Malibu, and has remained a prominent figure in the genre — most recently, he was part of Hulu’s streaming reality series Got To Get Out, which dropped its full season on April 11.
But it is their off-camera reality that has landed Pratt and Montag in the spotlight recently. On January 7 of this year, they lost the Pacific Palisades home they shared with their two young sons, Gunner and Ryker, in the devastating Southern California wildfires; Pratt’s childhood home, where his parents still lived, was also destroyed. Montag and Pratt’s TikTok videos both grew exponentially as they documented the tragedy, and Pratt’s pleas to make Superficial — the album Montag released back in 20210 — top the charts was heard by fans. Montag’s music went viral and made its Billboard chart debut 15 years after it came out. During the duo’s B&B episode, Montag’s music will be heard in the background.
At B&B, Pratt and Montag got to meet and mingle with stars like Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke), Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy) and Young and Restless star Lauralee Bell (Christine), who is also guest-starring as a fashion show guest. Of original B&B cast member Lang, who has played Brooke since 1987, Pratt declared, “She doesn’t get enough credit in Hollywood. What a legend to show up every day and be part of this successful franchise.” Pratt was also impressed by Wood, who was working while late in her pregnancy. “She was in those high heels and didn’t complain once. Not a complaint about anything ever.”
In what has been a decidedly difficult year, Pratt shared that he was buoyed by the way fans old and new have rallied around him and his wife, and shown them such goodwill in the wake of the fires. “Truly, the energy and the support from so many countries besides the U.S. has really been so inspiring to keep me positive and motivated,” he marveled. And should B&B (or another soap) invite him to put in more time on daytime, Pratt is more than up for it. “I would like to do anything that helps buy us a new house,” he declared, noting of B&B, “I had a blast, and I’ve been texting often, like, ‘Hey, when do you want us back?’ ”
